LXi? 5 speed manual 1.5? If so, between 170-190 (maybe up to 200 sa speedometer, but then, it'd be lying. ). But this should only be tried on a cool day, on good tires and on a long flat road with absolutely no traffic, unless you're experienced at high speed driving.

Otherwise, 100 kmh is already very enjoyable.

    Welcome to tsikot!

the Speedometer usually goes beyond the actual Top Speed.
I think its top speed is around est 190 km/h.

That's about right for the 1.5L 4-cylinder Civic LSi.

If the owner decide to travel at those speeds regularly, it might be a good idea to invest in V-rated tires (up to 149 mph) or even Z-rated tires (149+ mph),

    welcome to tsikot...

sa paguusap namin ni ian_rex... parang 140kph yata yung medyo "safe"... medyo hirap na raw after noon... (pre, confirm mo na lang ito).

though safe bet would be around 160kph... or even 180kph... though note that a car's speedo isn't 100% accurate... mga 5-10% ang margin of error for topspeed.

190 sounds reasonable... that's what one first gen City must have been doing when he overtook me in my old Exalta (tops at 180+)

aha. i heard my name. yup, my rig is strictly stock (except for the air filter). 140-145km/h very recently. but my car's been old, 147+K Kms and still counting. haven't got the momentum when i reached 140. but it could do 150 on NLEX northbound. but could do better (around 160-170) if i had better suspension, downforce, brakes, rims and slick tires. also a higher octane gas will help. also if your planning on driving at such speed, better if you don't have any underchassis problem. like i said, i tried the 140+ on a bad tie rod, broken lower trailing arm bushings. it is scary really. it is a matter of life and death if the tie rod ends decided to snap. imagine the wobbly steering wheels as i traverse on those speeds. i even have cramps on my forearms right after.

in my experience, 100 will do the job that is if you still want to save some fuel. napansin ko lang, once i get past the 100th mark, dun palang siya actually pumipick-up ng speed.

ok Ian ah. pero ako nasubukan ko na 180km/hr sa NLEX kaso sobra kaba kasi parang hindi sayad sa lupa.

But a good experience and I will not do it again.

100 to 120 is good enough.

An LXi in good condition can hit around 180-190 thereabouts (on 4th gear)... it has pretty long gearing if i may add. It'll be more stable if you have a good set of tires (i.e: 15's), given your tires and suspension are in good condition.

correct ka dyan sir. the very reason why i didn't try to dare to get those speed is because 1. my rims are stock 13's 2.my underchassis is kinda wobbly and throw in the suspension that is biased to comfort. 3. my tires are not suitable at those speeds (wrong speed rating). 4. i have to get off the highway lest i would end up in the next exit. yes, i could top out at 180, if i have enough tarmac and no one would apprehend me...

napansin ko lang, *80Km/h my rpm is about 2000, increment of 500 rpm(2500) = 100Km/h and so the trend continues until you hit the redline of 6000+rpm, the result at about 180 give or take a little.

i could reach 140 with 4 passengers but that about it.

yes, i agree. medyo bias sa high speed ang gearing ng honda. i guess, para ma-maximize mo each revs saka for fuel efficiency purpose din. sa 1st gear nga minsan, pag nagkamali ka at careless ka, pwede pang mag-stall e.

Alone or with 1 to 2 passengers at the most (with no or minimal luggage) and around 33-35psi on the tires... I never try gunning for unsure speeds on the expressway with a heavy load. ;)

The LXi gearing is tall, hirap siya to run on 60kph at 5th gear pag may sakay (unlike other sedans which can cruise steadily at 60kph on 5th on a flat road).

2000rpm in 5th gear is identical to the 5th gear in the 626, diba niky? ;)
surprising that honda put that kind of gearing in a 1.5L engine! of course on paper the 626 doesn't have a lot of HP, but it does have a lot of FT-LB

I sincerely doubt kaya ng 190 ang LXi, 170ish siguro...
