Grinding sound on cold starts

97 Honda Accord VTI-S A/T, 2.2L

I recently have been hearing a grinding noise coming from the engine during cold starts, it goes away after the engine warms up ... could it be the oil pump? should i be worried?

I'm using Shell Helix 10W-40 oil, last changed two months ago.

I have a similar case, which could be a wet compressor or pulley needing lubrication.

But it's more like a rusting torque sound from something that turns, and not like a grinding one.

i can't imagine what that would sound like?
but i did have my PS and alternator/compressor belts changed last Saturday, through the noise was already there even before the belt change.

Some high pitch rotational sound heard when I turn the AC on a minute after a cold start

It eventually goes away as the engine reaches normal operating temperature.

But I wouldn't describe it as grinding.

I'm not sure about your case, because a similar noise is associated with timing chains, which I think is not used on your Accord (afaik, it uses timing belt).

for me, it was traced to broken engine mounts. have it checked too.

update to this, re observing again, it often happens after work when ive parked the car for 8 hours or more in the basement at RCBC and taking it up the spiral driveway while turning, I don't hear it when driving in a straight line even at speed ... CV joints? or?
