gud day, someone is selling me his 1996 honda civic vtec, matic for 275k during our first meeting, then later text me na 230k sagad na daw.

ganito ba talaga pricing ng 96 model? mileage is at 111T. pero sabi nya well maintained ung car kasi he regularly change oil every 5T km. i'm not that good in technical aspect of a car kaya di ko alam kung pano kumilatis ng 2nd hand. ano ba mostly problems concerning matic na civic? hindi ko naman gagamitin daily ung car pang occasionally lang.

me nag text din sakin 95 lxi daw. ano ba difference ng esi, lxi at vti? tnx.

sir, medyo mahal yata yun gunang turing, but for 230K its a grab(sana nga lang M/T). mataas na ang mileage e. if you can avoid A/T model please do. there seems to be a problem when shifting from P to D parang tumatalon.

anyways, here is the difference of lxi and vti:

    lxi:

    1.5L SOHC non-VTEC Engine
    Power Steering, Windows.
    13" rims
no tail finisher, no color-keyed side mirrors, door handles, rear license garnish.
no power antenna, no power side mirror.

    Vti:
    1.6L SOHC VTEC
14" rims, then add mo yung mga not power ameneties like antenna side mirrors
    tail finisher
color key all (side mirrors, door paddles, rear license garnish).

if you have questions just don't hesitate to ask here.

    yun lang :D

magsama ka ng mechanic and car painter/latero para mabusisi nila makina, kaha, pangilalim, etc. wag ka magmadali sa pagbili ng car, look at other options. 230k is 230k. haste makes waste.

same here maraming napapasubo sa sobrang pagiging excited sa pagbili ng tsikot (lalo na kung yung car make/model and color ay pasok na pasok sa specs mo) kagaya ko. pero so far ok na naman ang ride ko...yun nga lang malaki ang nadamage sa bulsa ko the first few weeks after aquisition.

correct exactly. if possible, try to test drive the car... is the car seemed solid enough? etc. such things could spell a big difference

yup, parang napansin ko ung P to D pag nagshi-shift parang tumatalon nga, di ko pa na test drive tong binebenta sakin kasi na drop-by lang ako sa pwesto nya, pero naka pag drive na din ako from my friend 96 model din. sabi nga nya pag nasira isa parts ng civic, bigla na lang nagsu-sunod-sunodan.

ngayon-ngayon lang me nag text sakin 96 vtec din, m/t naman for 220k, di daw naka register and me gasgas daw na ipapa-retouch. and another one here for 210k naman m/t rin.

hindi kaya me mga tama to kaya mababa price nila? tinignan ko kasi buyandsellph.com halos nasa 250k up pa ang pricing.

maybe i should do a road test to each of those. i really prefer manual sana kaya lang mga sister at misis ko kasi gusto a/t para madali daw sila matuto. aside from shifting P to D problem ano pa mostly problem sa mga matic? tnx.

sir, may markup na syempre yung sa buy and sell...

saka kahit anong kotse basta decade old na ganyan talaga.

so far my civic has been good to me. nasisira from time-to-time, but nothing major.

just have to watch out for the bushings and tie-rods. yun ang unang nasisira sa civic. may nakita ako sa parking 96 civic din ang baba ng mileage, 66+K lang. the problem is, di naman binebenta.

ic, tnx sa mga info. me nakausap ako mekaniko sabi naman nya, don't be bothered by milleage, as long as ung makina kundisyon and maganda ang hatak. i think he has a point, kasi we have boxtype 86 gsr, layo na rin tinakbo pero it's still in good shape.

by the way, kung kaya ko pala magbuhos 230k for civic, what are the other car options in this price range? ang ganda kasi tindig ng civic parang di nakakasawang tignan kahit stock lang, corolla sabi nung iba kasi daw madali pyesa. but, kindly give me some options b4 i'll finally decide which car to buy. tnx again

Not very familiar kung magkano na ngayon 96 Civic pero nung binenta ko yung sa kin nasa 330K pa (2002). OK na cguro yung price na 230K, just check the following:

    1. tie rods
    2. bushings lalu yung sa rear
    3. rear arm rest and the cloth covering the seats sa side ng trunk
    4. A/C fan - comm brush(name?) yung nasira.
    5. yung kalawang sa firewall near the batt (yung OEM na batt is not MF)
(mura lang naman cept for the tie rods, yung seats DIY ko lang ayus na - ginagawa kasing bat cave ng mga anak ko eh)

other than these, wala na ko naging problem sa CIVIC (btw m/t yun).

    For 230K, you have other and probably better options;
    1999 - 2001 lynx
    1997 - 2000 corollas (I'd get this if a/t hanap mo)
    1999 - 2000 sentras

Test drive, check tires, check oil condition, kalampag, a/c etc.
