Hello, since then all of my previous cars were Toyota (from old DX to GLi 1.6). I'm now 32yrs old and i heard a lot of good things on Honda Cars and I decided to sell my previous Toyota gli 1.6 and bought Honda city 2006 1.3 i-dsi matic for my daily use. This decision of mine was finalized after several study and readings on tsikot.
1. Please give me some tips and suggestions on how to handle Hondas especially with CVT technology which is very new to me. Maintenance?, oil type used?, best transmision fluid type ? etc...
2. Whats the pros and cons of the city. Your information will be a great help for me.
3. Did i made the right decision? Please let me know.
BTW, the car i bought had 15Tkm on its odometer (after searching for a month, found this one is a good deal). Not so cheap but not too expensive, price is very reasonable. Thanks to the dealer.
The CVT will require flushing and refill of Honda's CVT fluid every now and then. The intervals are on your owner's manual. Don't try using anything else. This is one thing I don't like about the CVTs: They sort of force you to go to Honda dealerships for servicing.
You can try joining us at www.jazzcityunited.org. The outgoing Jazz and City share the same GD chassis, so a lot of parts and mechanicals are similar.
As for motor oil, any viscosity will do as long as the oil is SJ- or SL-rated at least.
i don't think the 26 km/l is realistic in mixed city/highway driving. i think a 15 kpl is more doable for mixed city/highway and around 18 kpl for pure highway.
On pure highway driving? I've already done 28 km/L from Parañaque-Baliwag-Parañaque...and this is on a manual Jazz with A/C on all the time. Others have done even better.
In city driving a range of 10-14 km/L is par for the course. I've upgraded to 16" rims so fuel economy suffers a little, but I can still make upwards of 12 km/L.
On CVT-equipped cars this should be easier, as long as you just relax behind the wheel. The CVTs are programmed to accommodate cruising at an unbelievably low 1500 RPM...very hard with the manual gearbox.
Type100,1D4, Thanks to your inputs. One more thing I worry. To share this with you, I was a victim of rewinded odometer before in my toyota (analog odo). I was very upset pero ginamit ko na lang ung car until ibenenta ko na rin, napatino ko naman ung car after many repairs.
My question now is, do you think the Digital Odometer of the City 2006 idsi matic can be re-winded (clock backwards i guess is the term)? I am just wandering to 15Tkm odometer reading for an '06 model. Need ko lang po inputs nyo if you heard something like tampering of digital odometers of Honda?
Cencya na po if madami ako tanong...thanks and best regards to all...
