Yes, do try and get the local ones if you can. I read some are happy with their converts but if you look at the price difference between a 2004/05 to 2007 Jazz, its not really that big. Second issue is if its a Cebu unit, you'll have a Y-prefix plate number. Takaw yan sa mga HPG who are on the prowl for hot cars.

TS - sir Chillax lang, i think ang gusto sabihin sayo ni master renzo e wag ka na bumili ng Honda Fit surplus kung ayaw mo ng sakit ng ulo, pero kung gusto mo talaga bumili ng Jazz, make sure kunin mo ung Local unit para iwas sakit ng ulo. BTW TS have you consider Suzuki Jimny? 1.3 engine, Higher ground Clearance than honda Jazz, 4wd etc.

I'm from Cebu. I see a lot of these Fits running around. I was able to drive one last year. My kabarkadas and my gf's dad owns one. So it's really a popular choice here.
Basically, you get a FIT if you're really strapped for cash and cannot afford to get a brand new one or a good 2nd hand car. Ofcourse Jazz units will always be better than the FITs. FIT is a major option should your budget be around the 250 - 300k only mark. If you get from a good shop and know a lot about cars, you can get a Fit and fix it up to drive well with minimal problems. The one I drove last year kinda had problems in the wheel alignment and U-turn radius was wide due to the conversion. But it still ran may sunroof pa. I recommend the FIT only if you're on a low budget.

my Plate is Y and its not a HOT CAR. New Cars here in Cebu start with Y already.

i have a relative there their cars start with Y

that's not a problem ... when you're there

but bring it here then it will attract a lot of 'crocs' hailing you here & there and check your papers

get a local unit para walang skit sa ulo. try and tested na yan.. just read some other forums.. they advise to get a local unit instead the converted Honda Fit.
