if magbabasa ka sa HCP, most users will choose gen1 over gen2. lagi nila sinasabi gen1 is the best crv yet.
my gf drives a 2000 gen1 a/t, clocking at 60,000km.
comfort = good
fuel consumption = +/- 7km/l
features = basic (nothing fancy. no vtec yet. but power is more than adequate)
durability = good (1st owned kasi and well maintained)
GEN 2 owner
1. tough body magandang bihisan
2. 9km/L city 12-13km/L highway
3. Superb
4. Excellent.!
for me nasa owner na lang yun, kung gusto nila imodify ang rides. we are to adjust the pros/cons of our vehicle.. nasa mga likings naman natin para gumanda at magamit natin na sulit ang napili nating sasakyan.. kung baga pareho yan meron 4 (apat) na gulong at makina. para humaba ang service. dapat ito'y alagaan..![]()

sir gen 2 yung 9km/l? the best we got was 6km/l. even mga kakilala ko na naka gen 2, around 6km/l lang.
first gen pa rin the best talaga. it has power and comfort.
1. sound cruiser, pero kung standard, same same ng gen 2
2. 7km/l gen 1 (hondabot is claiming 9km/l for gen 2)
3. same same lang. k20 mas mahal ng konti pyesa than b20
4. mas ok riding comfort ng gen 1 IMO
If budget permits, I would pick the Gen2.5
It has improved ride over the "10 Seater" Gen 2. Gen 1 is roomy but the
Gen 2 is really roomy inside. Power is adequate already in 2.0 so 2.4 would
even be better. Gauges are really nice.
The Gen1 still looks good even today specially if well maintained for me parang
classic na yun looks. The Gen2 I really don't like the design so much but the Gen2.5
still looks up to par with new cars today.
i presume hondabot's is a manual; i don't think 12 kpl is possible in the automatic gen 2.
i also get 8.5-9 kpl in an automatic gen 2 auv, combined city and highway. most of the time, i just cruise up to 2000 rpm, because the engine's economy mode is below 2200 rpm. we've measured 7.5 before but it never did worse than that. i believe the FC can go as low 6 kpl if the daily route is a crawl, and if the atf and oil aren't good anymore.
i just like the bench front seats and 3rd row.
