    Product/Service Name
    Dashboard/windshield/ceiling-mounted camera for capturing events on the road while driving.

    Complete Description
    A dashboard-mounted video camera with at least 720p capability at 30fps (or 15/24/25 fps) capable of capturing plate numbers, wide angle capability (at least 90 degrees, preferably 120 degrees or more) preferably with night-vision/low light capability, autoexposure (when filming against the light), and uses either standard batteries and with the ability to tap on a cigarette lighter. It should be mountable on a flexible, vari-angle stand and could be taken off its mount when needing to film off car (say, in a road accident). Uses standard SD or CF cards, capable of at least 4 hours recording time. It should have auto date-time stamping/file naming, on-cam mic (even if the pick up is not so good, could be used to do voice annotations).

    Average Market Retail Price / Street Price
    Php 4,000 to Php 12,000

    Pictures if applicable
    Photos below are to give an idea of what I'm looking for

    ============

    Hello to all! I am interested in acquiring a good-quality, camera that I can mount on my car to record events while I drive. I've seen a couple of offerings from Sulit, but, I think it's an understatement to say that I would trust a Tsikot offering a hundredfold more. I don't have a particular model in mind, though I've seen different candidate models, none of which gave all the features I am looking for at the price point I've indicated. If anybody has an idea of what would be a good model, I'm all ears.

    Bottomline, I'd like to protect myself while driving (crazy motorists, maniacal riders, clueless pedestrians, preying traffic enforcers, nuisance street urchins, potential carjackers, among others). It'll also make a good tool for posting videos on the Goon Squad HQ

    Go pro HD is the best in the market. Kahit saan mo I mount, sa front bar, sa roof,sa windscreen. Rain or shine, back ground such as wind noise is non existent, I've had it at 200 km/h + and picture quality is perfect..

    I'm leaning towards getting the GoPro but the only local distributor I've come across says that they don't have stocks at the moment. Would you guys know of other dostros? The one I found was a shop called Glorious Ride Bike Shop in Sikatuna. Would appreciate feedback.

    Am still open to other comparable brands also. Thanks!

    I'm also looking for something like this as I've been a victim of having the tables turned on me during accidents where the other party hits me and they make it look like my fault.

    Even better is a system that can record all views (front, rear, sides) just to be sure as I have also had vehicles swerve into me from the side.

    The system can also double as security when the vehicle is parked.

    I'm using my iphone mounted to my windshield as my trip recording tool when I'm not using GPS. If nothing much important recorded that day, I just delete the clips from iTunes

    The P1,880 DV-R with camera offered by CD-R King is just enough for video recording, video quality is enough for viewing. The plate number of the moving vehicles is not readable in the recorded video. The video clip recording is selectable in 3, 5 & 15 minutes length.
