What a week for driving miscues. While some have fatal consequences, others are merely perfect illustrations of poetic justice.

The photos you see here were posted by Barangay Lourdes (Quezon City) on its Facebook page. The images obviously show a Ford Ranger helplessly trapped in wet cement along Speaker Perez Street. This was the caption for the post: "The lessons of discipline (and the consequences of the lack of discipline). Nakalagay na kasi na road closed, pumasok pa rin! Tsk tsk tsk!"

    So what happened here?

According to Steven Cua, "the driver who went through this DPWH project disregarded the barriers placed between Laong-Laan and Maria Clara Streets by the contractor. He passed through in the middle of the night (12mn), while fresh concrete had just been poured (five minutes prior) by some 30 construction workers on-site. The driver had to step on knee-deep cement to get out. Mind you, the barrier was clearly under a light to emphasize that the road was closed."

And how was the vehicle moved to dry land?

According to Cua, the pickup was rescued by "heavy equipment on-site. No big deal for those who pulled it out. Can't say the same for the 30-plus-year-old guy cursing the high heavens!"

The post didn't exactly specify the exact date of the incident, but it must have been fairly recent.

Another driving lesson learned this week, guys. Always, always pay attention to barriers and road signs--and respect them, of course. They could save you the potential embarrassment.

We are open to clarifications should the Ranger driver wish to contest the account of Barangay Lourdes.

And the extra labor wages for the workers. Tapos na sana ang trabaho.

pag nadelay yung project because of that, sagot pa rin ba ng contractor? He should be made liable for penalties incurred.
