Mga tol what can you say about this Politicians (mostly) with police escorts who feels like they own the road? Di ba nila alam na ang pinapatabi nila are the ones paying their salary? How would they know how ordinary people feel when they can't even face traffic? In my opinion this kind of BS should be stopped. Ordinary people have important things to do too.

September 26th, 2006 01:22 PM #4It is a long time rant because not enough people do something about it. If you feel strongly about it, then do something.
I personally don't give way unless they are really authorized to have police escorts. But I do give the benefit of doubt to ambulances. I also give way to funeral escorts, especially those with long convoys, as a matter of respect to the dead and for practical reasons.
But for the rest, the devil be damned. I have discovered, as camera phones become ubiquitous, those guys have become more and more scared of confrontations lest they be publicized in newspapers or discussed in Internet forums like this one.
I have noticed that a lot of people seem to have taken a similar stance as I see more and more escorted vehicles stuck in traffic, their sirens wailing stupidly. Hopefully if more people follow, then the appeal (and/or effectiveness) of having escorts will wane.

I just ignore them. Bahala sila.
A Ford Expedition kept flashing strobes and waling his siren on me, I put my digicam out the window and took a snapshot of him. Namatay ang mga strobes, tumahimik ang sirena.

I had a bad experience with police escorts 3 months ago. If you try to ignore them, the police escorts will catch up with you, knock on your window. If you don't stop, one will block your path and the other will slam your side mirror to show that they mean business.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
