Motorist shot dead in Pasig -- report

Police in eastern Metro Manila are tracking down a motorist who fatally shot another motorist in Pasig City Thursday, December 10.

The fatality was identified as Richard Tuazon, who was shot in the head. He was declared dead on arrival at the Pasig City General Hospital, radio reports said.

The shooting incident occurred along Ortigas Extension that allegedly stemmed from an argument between the two motorists.

The perpetrator aboard an Innova-type vehicle (APA-9824) fled after the shooting.

MANILA, Philippines - A driver was shot dead yesterday in Pasig City in what was believed to be a road rage incident.

Police said Richard Tuazon was shot in the head and died while being rushed to hospital.

The gunman fled in his black Toyota Innova with license plates APA 9824. Pasig City police chief Senior Supt. Jose Hidalgo Jr. said he had ordered a pursuit.

“We have no clear motive as yet. My men are now in the field conducting follow-up operations to identify and arrest the suspect,” Hidalgo said.

Tuazon, a courier of the World Class Laminated Inc., left their office in Barangay Maybunga to deliver some items in Quezon City.





While driving his Mitsubishi L-300 van along Rosario Bridge in Barangay Rosario, Tuazon almost collided with the gunman’s car.

Witnesses said the driver of the Toyota then pulled aside Tuazon before opening fire through the vehicle’s window.

The gunman sped away while bystanders rushed Tuazon to the hospital.

Hidalgo said investigators are coordinating with establishments in the area to determine if the incident was caught on their closed-circuit TV cameras (CCTV).

“We are searching the CCTV cameras that might have recorded the shooting incident for us to get a clear picture of the shooting,” he said.

Worsening traffic

With the road rage incident occurring during the holiday rush, authorities admitted worsening traffic is becoming a major cause of concern for motorists as well as for government security forces.

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesman Col. Restituto Padilla said the military is willing to assist the police in dealing with this concern.

“For now we don’t have any troops deployed to help in easing traffic congestion because we know that our police counterparts can still handle the situation,” Padilla said.

Padilla said the military is ready and willing to deploy the needed troops for traffic duties to assist their counterparts in the police Highway Patrol Group (HPG).

He added troops from the AFP’s Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTFNCR) are on standby and ready to render service if the need arises.

In 2006, the AFP deployed a battalion of troops in Metro Manila to assist the PNP in securing the entire metropolis.

PASIG CITY ROAD RAGE

The Eastern Police District under the leadership of PCSUPT ELMER M JAMIAS, District Director and Pasig City Police Station has already identified the suspects including involving Pasig City road rage that transpired at about 11:50AM on December 10, 2015 at Rosario Bridge, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.

In line with this, LTO verification was made by Pasig City Police Station personnel, it was found out that the Toyota Innova with Plate Number APA-9824 driven by the suspect was registered under the name of ALI M. AMER of No. 240 Marigold Garden, Garden Royal Villas, Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Through strong intelligence efforts, PCSUPT JAMIAS was able to talked to an NGO member who has a direct contact with the Muslim communities having business along Guadalupe, Makati City. PCSUPT JAMIAS was able to talked to the witness, ANISAH HAJIE personally. According to ANISAH prior to the said shooting incident, her husband, FAISAL NAEM, was driving their Toyota Innova with Plate Number APA 9824 along the stretch of Amang Rodriguez, Pasig City, however, upon reaching the Junction near NAWASA, along Ortigas Avenue Extn. Rosario, Pasig City heading west direction, a driver of a color white Mitsubishi L-300 Van with plate number URG 714, coming from east direction of Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City, pressed their vehicle, however, his husband able to evade the L-300 Van. Thereafter, the driver of L-300 Van identified as one Richard Tuazon y Chavez, 37 years old, driver (World Class Laminated Inc.) got irked and tried to again press their vehicle and uttered unsavory remarks against her husband.

Moreover, to avoid more confrontation, her husband continued driving until they reached the Rosario Bridge Flyover, however, the driver of L-300 Van continuously tailed them and encroached their way that prompted her husband to stop their vehicle. After which, her brother-in-law, TAMEME MAGUMNANG MOHAMMAD, who at that time sitting at the back of the vehicle alighted and followed by her husband. Witness also alighted to pacify her husband and her brother-in-law, however, while doing so, she saw that her brother-in-law put his hand inside the van and she heard a lone gun shot. Out of fear, she entered to their vehicle and again heard successive gun shots that prompted her to embrace her four (4) year old daughter seated at the back of their car. Moments after, her husband drove the car while his brother-in-law slickly walked across the street and disappeared.

Accordingly, her husband then drove their vehicle going C-5 road and parked it at the parking lot of SM Hypermart, Tiendesitas, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City. Because of nervousness, witness left her husband at the said place then brought her daughter and boarded to a Toyota FX going to their store at Guadalupe Commercial Complex, Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City.

After the revelation of witness, at about 2:00 p.m. of December 13, 2015, the Toyota Innova color black bearing plate number APA 9824 was recovered at the given address of witness and was brought to this Pasig City Police Station for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, according to SOCO report, the spent shells recovered from the crime scene belonged to caliber .380 causing multiple gunshot wounds to the head, thorax and extremities.
A case of MURDER is being prepared for filing against the at-large suspect before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office as well as the continuous follow-up and manhunt operation of the suspect.

Yeah. Pinoy Muslim mentality of violence.
Don't get me wrong because this is also confirmed by a Pinoy Muslim colleague who lives in Mindanao.
He said guns and firearms are the norm.

While doing fieldwork, they slept in a house of a brgy official when one of his female colleague suddenly screamed.
