^ For me, it's more of the reverse. I sometimes loose concentration talking/listening because my mind is in my driving. I frequently find myself asking the person at the other end of the line to repeat what he/she just said.

Texting and answering is worst than drunk driving. They should create a car that have phone jammers on the driver's seat when it is running. People have the notion that" it will never happen to me"...

Mas bad trip yung mga texting while driving, tapos ang bagal mag maneho. Gumigitna pa sa 2 lanes.
Tapos pag binusinahan mo, at pag overtake mo, he/she will give you the killer stare and sometimes the finger. Yung facial expression pa nila, "HEY douchebag! Can't you cut me some slack? I'm using the phone, can't you see? Inconsiderate a-hole!"

    Madaming ganito sa The Fort.

na adopt ko yung policy na to sa isang Life Saving Rule na tinatawag ng company namin "Using mobile phone while driving". If you caught using cp, terminated ka.

Pag sa pinas ako naka silent mode yung cp ko while driving pag kasama si misis kasi sinasagot at binabasa yung text baka daw importante. eh baka mamaya si inday yung tumatawag nagpapabili ng lobo

Smartphone makers need to make a universal car dock/head unit hybrid.

    With built-in safety features.

Interestingly, there were reports in the web that one of Steve Jobs's pet projects before he croaked was the iCar. Probably an Apple head unit, realistically speaking.

BTT: no no na talaga gamit ng mobile while driving.

    :hysterical:

Texting Teen Driver Gets Unusual Sentence in Vehicular Homicide Case
    Yahoo! Contributor Network
By Christopher Beheler | Yahoo! Contributor Network – 10 hrs ago

On February 20, 2011, then-17-year-old Aaron Deveau swerved head-on into Daniel Bowley. Bowley, a 55-year-old father and grandfather, would spend 18 days in a hospital before succumbing to his injuries. Bowley's death would lead to a landmark ruling as the first conviction for homicide by texting and driving.

While Deveau pleaded not guilty, the prosecution presented evidence that the teen driver had been texting all day including just prior to the deadly crash. Deveau claimed he was not texting at the time of the accident, but phone records show he sent a text one minute before the accident and received one at the approximate time of the accident.

    Growing problem

A survey by AT&T shows that 43 percent of teens admit to texting while driving. They survey also pointed out that 97 percent of them knew it was dangerous. With 38 states already having anti-texting and driving laws on the books, lawmakers are well aware of the issue. According to the National Safety Council, more than 1 in 4 vehicle crashes involve cell phones and texting. Bowley's death and Deveau's conviction put a human face on the potential toll.

    Curious sentence

District Court Judge Stephen Abany openly stated that he was sending a message when he handed down his sentence. He sentenced Deveau to one year in prison. The prison sentence was not unusual when compared to Massachusetts' DUI vehicular homicide guidelines. It was the second part of the sentence that was unusual. Judge Abany suspended Deveau's license for a whopping 15 years. Deveau will not legally be behind the wheel until he is 33 years old.

    Sad day for all involved

The days events may be best summed up by Es*** County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett. After the sentencing, Blodgett issued a statement that said, "There are no winners today."

The family and friends of Deveau watched his life be forever altered by the decision. Meanwhile, Bowley's family simply wished Bowley still had a life to be altered. Bowley's sister, Donna Burleigh, did hope some good would come of it. After the trial, she said "We hope this sends a message that it's not OK to text and drive."

The sentence does send the message loudly, but only time will tell if the message was clear.
Texting while driving is a big no no.
