Boyet Fajardo's "taray" scene at Duty Free Mall

Over the weekend, I received an angry e-mail regarding an incident which left a lot of people who were at the Duty Free Fiesta Mall in Parañaque last March 13 outraged.

I verified the contents of the e-mail and found out that they were all true.

A designer who supplies clothes to a known mall chain reportedly created a scene, to the shock and horror of shoppers and employees alike, when a cashier asked for his ID after presenting his credit card.

The reason why the cashier politely did this, was because the credit card was unsigned. This is an SOP or standard operating procedure in cases like this, in order to verify ownership of the credit card, so what’s wrong with that?

Suddenly, the designer reportedly got furious and, at the top of his voice, started berating the cashiers and managers of Duty Free.

The designer further shocked bystanders by cussing the people there with words like “leche” and “p…ina,” while angrily expressing surprise why the people there did not recognize him.

He also threatened to call his contacts -- all people in “high places” -- and demanding that those who crossed him be fired. Whew! Heavvyyyy!

And if you think that was it, here’s more: The designer further demanded that for him to be appeased, the cashier must kneel down before him so he could slap his face.

To appease the designer, the cashier agreed to do so -- fortunately, minus the slapping.

A casual employee of Duty Free, the cashier was crying in shame while obliged to the demand of the angry customer and even apologized, perhaps for fear of losing his job.

I can’t imagine how this designer treats his employees, if any, or his helpers, for that matter. He may be moneyed alright, but this certainly does not make him a GOD.

Obviously this "Boyet Fajardo" is feeling famous, whoever he is.

Frankly if the story behind the video is true, people should give this feeling-famous fashion designer the cold shoulder and boycott all his designs, design shop and other products.

Any person who knows this guy would be ashamed of knowing him. Blowing your top simply because a cashier asked you to provide an ID because your credit card isn't signed is a stupid reaction. I guess it shows us his exact personality... konting taas lang sa buhay, ang baba na agad ang tingin niya sa ibang tao.

Here, I found lots of sites in the net with what he did. I found this site that is petitioning to boycott all of his works plus his contact info. Someone is gonna get a handful of angry reactions from people.

From the posts of the forumers, it seems bading nga siya. However, a forumer, who claimed that he is a member of the DFP Employees Union said that they are now initiating moves to file a case against Boyet Fajardo.

Mukhang madaling na-intimidate yung mga managers sa DFP. Dapat diyan, i-ban na sa premises yung hinayupak na baklang yun. Hindi kaya tatay niya si Joaquin Fajardo?

hmmm. personally, since may supposedly 'person of authority' na dun, like yung manager and guards, i wouldn't intervene directly. but i would definitely tell the manager to not let his cashier kneel. not even in our courts do we let that kind of humiliation happen.

di ko kakausapin or icoconfront si boyet fajardo directly kasi wala siya sa sarili. it's hard to explain to a deranged and irrational person. lalo lang magkakagulo.
