    live on air, dzbb, told wife and children

    ganito ang pagkaalala ko:

    field reporter, tells about ambush, retrieves a phone no.

    anchor: dito po ba nakatira si...

    lady: hindi po

    anchor: eh si ... dito po ba nakatira?

    lady: opo, asawa po nya ako.

    anchor: ang plate number ba ay ...

    lady: eh basta blue na strada po

    anchor: kailan kayo huling nagkausap?

    lady: kaninang umaga lang po (now wondering)

    anchor: may dala po ba syang sako?

    lady: di po sako, duffel bag na kulay blue, pera po laman

    anchor: magkano po laman ng pera?

    lady: di ko po alam, (nagkagulo na, a younger voice soon took over) askign, nasaan daddy ko?


    reporter patches police captain, and anchor asks police captain, while maintaining the other line open.

    anchor: ang pangalan ba ng biktima ay ...

    police: ....

    other line: (iyakan na)

    anchor: nasaan na po ba?

    police: nasa punerarya ...


    raw info: may-ari daw ng grocery yong lalaki, napatay kasama driver, bag full of cash and checks were found inside the vehicle.

    I almost hit a car while the report was in progress...

    looks like I missed the tv report, on how they handled it.

    They should have fired that reporter. Everything is done in bad taste. It's very unprofessional.

    even if its true, sana naman hindi on-air ang pagbigay ng balitang patay na ang husband. pwde naman nilang i-confirm off the air kung sya nga yung asawa. damn those reporters, napaka walang puso.

    Naalala ko dati yung sa July 16, 1990 earthquake. Nandun ang mga reporters sa nag-collapse na CCP sa Nueva Ecija (?). May student na nakaipit sa rubble na humihingi ng tulong.

    Aba ininterview pa ng Channel 2! An hour or two later namatay siya...

    that is what many in the news media are called, especially those in radio and tv news. they prey on the dead and dying. to them humanity can go fly out the window, they don't care. the "scoop" is more important. to them all of us are mere "stories".

    inhuman, brutal, gross, predatory, unethical. they are not human beings, they are reporters.
