Benson Bangayan Tan, 43, continued uttering this in shock yesterday, days after he was robbed of P3 million allegedly by 20 cops inside his home in Tondo, Manila. Tan, of 2427-C Fernandez St., Gagalangin, Tondo, said 20 heavily-armed cops raided his house for unknown reasons at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspects reportedly took P100,000 in cash and jewelry worth P3 million.
An MPD-General Assignment Section investigator identified the cops behind the alleged robbery as SPO2 Mario Sanchez, PO3 Daniel Gaddie, PO2 Melchor Nuñez, PO2 Dranreb Cipriano, PO2 Fernando Diamzon, PO1 Sonny Gahol, PO1 Leandro Ventanilla, PO1 Mark Dave Vicente, PO1 Christopher Laus, PO1 Enrique Miranda, PO1 Raffy Padua, PO1 Maurison Ablaza, PO1 Marlon Canlapan, PO1 Elmer Clemente, PO1 Nestor Inot, PO1 Rudolf Mijares, PO1 Richie Yapit, all detailed with the MPD Station 1; PO2 Christopher Palapal and PO2 Giovanni Chua, both assigned with the MPD’s District Mobile Force Unit.
Tan filed robbery charges against the 20 cops yesterday.
“Akala mo coup d’etat ang nangyari. Biglang pinasok ng mga awtoridad ang bahay ng biktima at pagkatapos ay ninakawan pa,” a neighbor of the victim told People’s Tonight.
As this developed, Tondo residents urged Philippine National Police chief Director General Avelino I. Razon Jr. and MPD director Chief Supt. Roberto “Boysie” Rosales to relieve the suspects’ immediate superior, Supt. Yolando Mariano, MPD Station 1 commander.
“Command responsibility ’yan ni Supt. Mariano. Dapat masibak siya sa puwesto dahil magnanakaw ang kanyang mga tauhan,” a source said.
People’s Tonight tried to get Supt. Mariano’ s side on the matter. A cop aide, who requested anonymity, said the police chief was on leave during the alleged robbery.
