MANILA, Philippines – The Far Eastern University (FEU) administration has submitted to the police the names of three more suspects in the stabbing of a University of Santo Tomas (UST) student inside its campus last October 2.

Speaking to dzMM, Manila Police District Station 4 Commander Superintendent James Afalla said following its internal investigation, the FEU administration identified the three suspects as April Borromeo, Danica Suba and Danica Ortega.

Afalla said FEU had already expelled the students, who are accused of stabbing UST student Joanne Lourdes Reyes inside the FEU campus in Morayta last October 2.

He said frustrated murder charges have already been filed against the three.

The first suspect to be identified and charged was Christine Acosta, a graduating nursing student of FEU.

Afalla said Acosta has yet to surface. He said even Acosta's father, who had promised to surrender his daughter, has gone missing.

He said they have yet to identify at least one more suspect.

"So far, pinag-aaralan pa kasi hindi na-capture ng CCTV. Pero ang [salaysay] ng biktima ay more or less four or five [ang umatake sa kanya]," he said.

Reyes, an Information Technology student, attended the awarding ceremony of a film competition inside the university last October 2. After leaving the venue of the event, at least five women attacked her.

Reyes said one of the suspects first attacked her with a pepper spray before she was stabbed.

She was rushed to the Chinese General Hospital after being stabbed five times in the back, once on the scalp and once on the belly, which pierced her intestine.

Three more women have been charged in connection with the stabbing and wounding of a University of Santo Tomas (UST) student on the Far Eastern University (FEU) campus in Manila on Oct. 2.

Those charged with frustrated murder on Wednesday in the Manila Prosecutor’s Office were Aprille Borromeo, Danica Suba and Danica Ortega.

Joanne Lourdes Reyes told the police that she was first sprayed with tear gas by a woman dressed in pink before several others ganged up on her and stabbed her. She suffered six stab wounds, most of them in the back.

Based on the footage taken by a closed circuit television camera installed on the FEU campus, the police identified the woman in pink as Borromeo.

So far, six people have linked to the attack on Reyes. First to be charged was Ma. Christine Acosta, a graduating nursing student of FEU. Two other women tagged in the stabbing have yet to be identified.

Reyes told the police that she had been invited by a friend to watch a film competition at FEU on Oct. 2. While in the hallway of the science building, a group of women approached her and her friend, sprayed them with tear gas and then stabbed Reyes who was wearing a UST shirt.

SPO3 Genesis Aliling of the Manila Police District Sampaloc station, meanwhile, said that they have been forced to resort to other ways to identify the suspects as witnesses and Reyes have refused to help them in their investigation. With Rima Granali
