    Cops nab 9 drag racers in Taytay

    Nine people are facing three criminal charges for illegal drag racing before dawn Sunday in Taytay, Rizal, ABS-CBN News reported.

    The suspects were identified as Jeric Guevarra, Luisito Napiza, Ligin Cruz, Patrick John Ragudo, Mark Paul San Pascual, Leo Santos, Christopher Lugtu, Jervy Lorenzo and Jam del Rosario.

    The nine were arrested at 3 a.m. along Ortigas Avenue Extension, Barangay San Isidro in Taytay.

    The arrest was conducted after police received a telephone call from residents who complained of the noise created by the suspects' motorcycle drag racing.

    Police said they caught the suspects in the act of racing their motorcycles along the road.

    Police said the suspects initially resisisted arrest.

    The suspects are now detained at the Rizal Provincial Police Office and are facing charges of reckless driving, alarm and scandal and resistance and disobedience to a person in authority.

    Hindi ba nakuha sa lagay yun mga police siguro nagtakbohan na lang yun iba. Itong incident na ito brings back memories, nag ala fast & the furious kami yun naghuhulihan sa may Manila Hotel Roxas Blvd scooter drag racing, yun mga nahuli dinala sa mga quirino grand stand police station, wala na uwi lang sa lagay sa 2 oras na usapan. Pagkatapos na hulihan punta kami ng barkada ko sa police station para kunin yun pera na pinusta.
