Head lamps is for lighting the area fronting the car at night, yung mga taga provinsya may use their car in Manila during daytime, and park their cars at their Manila hotels at night. I did not say ban them too, here in Manila.

And if you think car manufacturers do not put something to the car that does not pose danger to the general public, you better think again.

Inggit? are people who argues against what others believe in is INGGIT? Come on, take a walk!!!
Talaga bang galit ka sa mga promdi? You tell them to use their cars during the day and park it at night? Thats one of the most stupid things I ever heard from someone. Don't you think people need their cars more at night? Because it is very risky to commute in Manila at night, as if i have to state the obvious.

Car manufacturers not only put HID in the Philippines as standard. You can practically see HID's standard on a certain car model for global consumption. An example would be the current Mercedes Benz S-class. So how can you put something on a car that would pose hazard to the general public? I'm sure that if it were a hazard, cars in the U.S won't have them as we all know how strict the US DOT is or the German TUV for that matter.

Inggit? to tell you frankly, I'm no HID user. But I admire the HID technology even if I don't have it on my car. At least I can appreciate something that I don't have and NOT sourgrape.

HID? On a W123??? IMO, I would NEVER think of installing one on my w123 legal or not. It would just look ricey. A classic car of the 1970's and 80's then retrofit it with HID? Thats just ridiculous and it's not "period correct" for purists.

That is why I can only surmise that people using HIDs are just "kulang sa pansin" or simply want to be different at the expense of other people's safety.
But I believe HID will be very helpful in rural settings, especially in long lonely, poorly lighted, highways where vehicles are few and far between. Even in areas where fogs often dawns on streets and highways. Do we have fogs in Metro Manila? I wonder!
Proper use? What may be proper to some may appear improper to others. Forgetting to dim when necessary is often the excuse. But damage may be disastrous at the receiving end.
    Banned? absolutely in the metro.
ban HIDs in the metro but not in the rural areas? sir isn't this highly illogical and backwards? the problem is not the device itself, but the installation. if you don't seem to notice, car lighting is starting to get standardized on the HID technology.

also, sa local setting, i am not aware of any car manufacturer/dealer profiling customers based on geographical locations. do cars sold in tagaytay/baguio come with heaters instead of your regular "metro manila-only" ACs?

labo di ba sir? so are you peace

+1 HID's is the way to go these days, I'm sure kung walang HID dito sa Pinas ang sasabihin na naman ng mga kababayan natin e minamaliit tayo ng mga local car manufacturers/car distributors kasi meron ito sa mga kotseng binebenta outside da Pinas.

I think our car market is just too small to customize a certain car model for a particular market so everything just has to be standardized. Even in Baguio or Tagaytay you will still need the A/C come summertime.

Yup, this is exactly my setup. But I also used 3000k lights para yellow. I dont see the advantage of using white light. The color is actually very close to my standard headlights.

Anyway, Ive been testing them out... since ang baba ng mounting ng foglights ko, they dont seem to blind oncoming drivers. Even when I stand in front of the car with the foglights on, hindi rin ako nasisilaw.

Pero foglight dynamics are different. Their light is more diffuse, kaya The very high located signs in C5 also light up when I use it. Its not very good though when seeing objects directly in front of me, kaya they become supplement to my headlights only (wala tuloy savings in power use). Still, I turn them off in 2-way traffic w/o barriers and when they are not needed (well-lit streets, jeepney or big truck directly in front of me,etc).

It perplexes me how it doesnt seem to glare oncoming drivers, or myself when Im in front of it, when the foglights' aiming is also quite diffuse. Some people tell me its the color - dilaw kasi, pero I think its precisely because of it is very diffuse kaya di na siya masakit sa mata, as compared to if you have light that's focused on the other driver. Take streetlights for instance, they're quite diffuse kaya hindi masakit sa mata even when you stare at them.

So is HID going to be officially banned? Is there an official announcement or article from MMDA I can use a reference?

100% thumbs up, my brother in law is using one but it's properly installed... kaya magpapalagay na rin ako
