Gunman driving SUV killed in shootout | ABS-CBN NewsMANILA – An unidentified gunman was killed in a shootout with police on Friday night in Paranaque City.
The man who was driving a black Montero with plate number UZI 388 engaged policemen in a car chase for about 30 minutes.
Police said they responded to a call regarding a shooting incident along Aguirre Street in BF Paranaque.
"Biglang sumibat, kaya hinabol ng mga pulis yan tapos nagpaputok sa amin," said Police Supt. Teofilo Andrada.
Police shot at the SUV's tires to slow it down but to no avail. It was finally cornered along El Grande Avenue in Las Pinas City.
However, five other vehicles were damaged during the chase.
"Paano na kaya ang gagawin ko? Patay na pala yung bumangga sa kotse ko," said Ric, whose car was damaged during the car chase.
Authorities are still determining the identity of the suspect and his possible connection with other notorious criminal groups. Report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News

August 23rd, 2014 08:23 PM #11I read the comments on the link. Posters are saying that the driver was not a carnapper. If it is true, hirap talaga dito sa Pilipinas, madaming namamatay sa incompetency ng mga tao in authority (government, police etc)

MANILA, Philippines - Bulagta ang 29-anyos na kawani ng isang car company makaraang makipagbarilan sa mga operatiba ng pulisya na sumita sa pa*giging reckless driver nito kamakalawa ng gabi sa Parañaque City.
Kinilala ang biktima na si Timothy James Alon ng M. Panlilio St., BF Resort Village, Las Piñas City, at kawani ng Mitsubishi Motors*.
Sa inisyal na ulat na natanggap ni P/Senior Supt. Ariel Andrade, hepe ng Parañaque City PNP, naganap ang insidente bandang alas-8 ng gabi sa panulukan ng Aguirre Avenue at El Grande Avenue, Parañaque City hanggang sa umabot sa Tropical Avenue sa Las Piñas City.
Nabatid na minamaneho ni Alon ang itim na Mitsubishi Montero Sport (UZI-388) na sinasabing pagewang-gewang ang pagmamaneho kaya sinita ni PO1 Khevin-Klein Bueno ng Muntinlupa City PNP.
Gayon pa man, sa halip na tumigil ang biktima ay pinaharurot ang sasakyan kaya hinabol ito ni P01 Bueno kung saan humingi ng assistance sa Parañaque City PNP.
Rumesponde naman ang mga tauhan SWAT ng Paranaque City PNP upang arestuhin si Alon subalit pinutukan ang pangkat ng PNP na nauwi sa shootout.
