Taken this morning along Kalayaan Makati...number coding violator pa. Sinita nung yelow boys ni Binay pero pinaalis din agad. Bakit kaya?

Either the vehicle is a carnapped vehicle -or- a recovered one.

Our five-year old car was carnapped some years back. We were able to recover it after a few days, with another plate number, probably stolen too.

So, we surrendered both to the LTO and they issued us another plate number which is a new one. The reason according to them is that they cannot issue our old plate number because it is still in the list of carnapped plate numbers, just in case the goons use it.

Pwede din personalized plates. Kasi tingnan nyo, PILIPINAS pa yung naka sulat sa ibaba, ibig sabihin lumang plates na. Kung X series yan ng year 2006, iba na nakasulat.

That is also what happens to recovered stolen vehicles if it is sold through bidding (e.g. nabayaran na ng insurance yung owner, no point returning the car).

Not personalized yan. AFAIK, thats a normal issue plate. It is normal for this plate series to to have PILIPINAS in it. It started with WSA-111 until XB*-***. Previously it was ANGAT PINOY 2004 (panahon ni ERAP) which started at WN*-*** until WR*-***. Prior to it was PHILIPPINES 2000 (panahon ni tabako) which started from TSA-111 until WM*-***.

Starting from XCA-111 until XD*-***, plates had PERLAS NG SILANGAN on the lower portion and PILIPINAS on the upper portions of the plate. Starting from XEA-111 until present, the RIZAL plates which has MATATAG NA REPUBLIKA (M. Manila) or PILIPINAS (for the Provincial issued plates) inscribed on the bottom.

OK na sana yung Rizal plates, sana nga lang, "Perlas ng Silangan" na lang ang nilagay kaysa sa "matatag na republika".

Aside from the black Toyota Fortuner with license plate UNK 555 (with wang-wang pa!), I also saw this:

    Toyota Innova UNV 777.

Wala bang mark ang mga new plates issued to old cars? Parang "R" sa mga replaced plates?

My former '96 Corolla's (bought in Nov 96) plate letters are UNV. It was registered in LTO P. Tuazon Cubao. Since the plate is triple 7 (special), baka hindi ito nabili or nagamit in '96. And somebody with initial UNV found and bought it.
