    A friendly reminder from the MMDA:

    ARMORED VEHICLES ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM TRAFFIC LAWS.

    Bayani Fernando announced this yesterday as he personally ordered the impounding of an armored car that he spotted deliberately ignoring a No Left Turn sign in Cubao on Tuesday.

    According to BF, Armored Cars are NOT emergency vehicles, so they have no excuses to openly violate traffic rules and regulations.

    He appealed to motorists to report to the MMDA the license plates of armored vehicles they see ignoring traffic laws. :D

    ang nakakainis pa sa armored cars ang massive na nga ng frame nila tapos babanggain ka pa talaga pag di ka tumabi. it happend to my friend sa may philcoa. the Coco bank armored car suddenly swerved and hit her door and she had to run after them because they did not stop, they just gave her a standard kit that they give to their victims. when she went to the cocobank along katipunan the guards were denying that it was their fault.

    Hmmm... armored vehicles ba kamo? Pano yung sa Central Bank convoy? Madalas kong makita sa Espanya yun, sunod sunod at walang sinasantong traffic lights at sasakyan. May mga nababalitaan na akong kwentong nababangga nung mga yun.

    Nung minsan tumirik yung isa truck nila, nagbabaan mga 10 fully armed men sabay tulak.

    dapat lang na mahuli mga yan! wala silang paki sa mga dinadaanan nila kasi heavy armored yung body. nakakainis mga yan. ang yayabang pa ng driver!

    yung kayang mga trailer trucks ng fortune tobacco?.. dito sa marcos hway.. sunod sunod yung mga yun.. walang sinasanto.. nde ka talaga makakasingit sa kanila... hehehe

    Makahuli lang kung si BF ang makakita. Kung MMDA aides lang, iba na ang usapan, hinde na nga makahinto ng mga sirang ulo na kumakaliwa sa may Araneta- Quezon Ave., Armoured car pa. More of public relation stunt yata ang press release ni BF.

    There are armored vans which I found to be driven well, that is along EDSA.

    But I also encountered some that seems they are escorting the president, ignoring traffic laws and irrespectful of other motorists. My friend says those are armored service vans owned by retired and in-service generals.

    As always it's unfair to generalize. Marami ngang gagong armored car drivers pero meron din naman matino.

    It's good that this came out. I just hope ma-implement ito and hindi isa pang ningas kugon.

    under republic act 4136 armored vans are not emergency vehicles. kaya wala silang karapatan suwayin ang batas trapiko. d2 sa amin hinohold namin mga yan at binibigyan ng TOP para mag seminar sa LTO. Mostly ng mga driver ng armored van di man nagtraining ng evasive and defensive driving course. pag umasta kala mo sino sa daan.. report nyo po sa LTO plate no. nga mga abusadong driver ng armored van para mailagay sa alarm list ng LTO. take note nyo lang plate no. time at lugar ng pinanyarihan. at magfile ng reklamo sa LTO.

    Kakaiba talaga ang mga ibang drivers ng armored vans na yan. Swerving, counter-flow, sige lang nang sige! Special mention sa EDSA, banda sa may portion sa may on-ramp papuntang Tramo. As in doon sila sa dulong dulo mag-swerve papunta sa lanes going to Taft/MOA.

    kaya di magalaw ang mga yan is that armed kasi ang mga yan, kung ikaw nga naman ang pobreng MMDA aide, would you risk na mabaril ka? Just a thought.
