Mismatched car/plate numbers

saw a red 89-91 corolla w/ plate number UMG764 along edsa malibay, ang layo naman ng actual year ng car sa plaka (circa 1996-1997)! the plates have extra holes, halatang galing sa ibang car.

saw a black 2000 cefiro w/ plate number XNK??? sa AFP housing sa fort bonifacio. 2000 model car w/ 2004 plates! d po special yung plates. w/ red 2005 sticker pala

Bawal gawing taxi, but not bawal for public. If you're running a hotel or inn service, they are registered as for hire vehicles. Mga hotel service yellow plates ang mga bmw at camry (shangrila)

sometimes special request naman yung plates. baka mukhang nothing special para sa atin, pero para sa owner, baka initial nya yung letters and birthday nya yung numbers.

Usually kung special plates you can tell by the number combo used (505, triple digit, etc.). There are cases also like:
- change plate (due to security reasons)
- former diplomat car (got a regular plate when the vehicle was sold and the taxes were paid)
- in 2000-2001, there was a shortage of plates so LTO took some old stocks out (or something like that) so there are some car model of that particular time span that carried plates from the 1998 series (WE*-###, WG*-###).

-iba yung font(matatag na republika version) hindi pa ata applicable sa mga lumang plate. Check-out the letter I, iba font sa ordinary.
-sandwich numbers(808, 505,303)
-triple digits(333,555,888)
-lucky numbers(168) 25K ata to

dapat sinasaway yan ng mga pulis, para sigurado hindi hot car, pero mukhang hindi lahat ng pulis alam yung necessary letters for the year model.

nagtataka lang ako dito sa davao "L" is used as starting letter here. pero ngaung is i think "LGN" na ang series na gnagamit, may nakikita parin akong NEW cars (montero, hilux, fortuner etc..) na WHITE ang background ng plates and they start with "LES" (or some old letter combinations) . hindi po siya special plates kasi regular ang numbers niya (walang combination) and pilipinas naka lagay sa lower center. 3 yrs. registration din siya. bale new car with old plates. can somebody explain? thanks!

nope. d po sila personalized. imposible naman po atang personalized puro LES ang start nila . tapos ang numbers ay random. they are the same ones released dati (pilipinas written on the center) so probably d po sila personalized.
