What do you expect from people with "connections"?

‘Abusive’ motorist gets kid-glove treatment in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - An abusive motorist who went against traffic flow and used a siren in Quezon City got the kid-glove treatment from police Wednesday night, to the dismay of two officers who arrested him.

Radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported that the motorist, initially identified as Jose Rodel Magat, 34, was arrested after running against the flow of traffic at Scout Chuatoco Street.

Magat was also using his car siren when arrested by police personnel identified only as SPO4 Flores and PO2 Lazatin, at the corner of Scout Chuatoco and Scout Reyes Streets.

Flores and Lazatin said Magat even claimed to be a policeman, but could only produce a "police volunteer" ID card when they demanded evidence from him.

But when the two brought Magat to the Quezon City Police Station 10, they were "ordered" to release Magat because he was supposedly a "friend" of Quezon City police chief Sr. Supt. Magtanggol Gatdula. - GMANews.TV

good job SPO4 Flores and PO2 Lazatin! dapat sila tularan ng ibang pulis.

epektib pa rin pala yung "name-dropping" strategy....i would think that with all the cops and politicians and government officials out there, at least 2 million Pinoys could potentially be able to use someone's name to get out of trouble :hihihi:

baka wala nang nahuhuli ang pulis niyan :rofl01:

Ah, name dropping, uso at effective pa pala yan.

this is similar dun sa isang post (another thread) --- sa 8 plate yata yun --- na may hinuli yung pulis and he stood his ground... but in the end, siya pa ang inutusang ibalik sa bahay personally yung license nung hinuli nya at mag-apologize pa raw sya.

Kokonti na nga lang gumagawa ng trabaho nila ng maayos, nadidiskaril pa. tsk tsk

hehe oo nga. 6 degrees of separation lang naman e. so chances are, every filipino may be related to, knows or is known by at least one tanod, MMDA enforcer, LTO clerk, policeman, councilor, mayor, congessman, senator, etc. and that doesn't count the fictional relations

most new police people enter the police force with high ideals...

they know their job, they know what should be done...

then they witness the corruption... from their superiors to the highest levels of govt.

they see how things really work in our twisted, depraved society.

They see their good work go unrewarded, and they even get reprimanded for doing their job.

And they see law breakers go unpunished... and even get protection from their superiors.

They see their ideals get thrown out the window.

They realize the theoretical world is far different from the real world.

The real world has its own rules. The rules in the theoretical world do not apply.

The system corrupts even the most idealistic police person.

Welcome to the Philippines.

Who "ordered" the release? To be fair the report did not even mention that Gatdula had a direct hand on the said release. But then again the person who "ordered" to release the violator should also be questioned.

The best thing to do is send feedback to PNP.

NON-EMERGENCY POLICE RESPONSE
DIAL: (632) 723-0401 to 20

TEXT MESSAGE SERVICE:
Type: PNP <space> message
Send to: 2920
EMAIL:
