    July 30, 2005. 3:00 pm.

Along Osmena Hwy, heading towards SLEX, right after the Buendia Flyover, I was stopped by an Anti Smoke Belching enforcer along with at least 20 others, thinking that they were gonna perform random testing on our vehicles, I gladly pulled over. Since I keep my van well maintained and am a regular biodiesel user, I thought there wasn't gonna be any problem. So I was surprised when the enforcer asked for my driver's license, when I asked what my violation was, the idiot replied " Di mo ba alam na ang kapal ng usok mo!" Knowing that my van emitted almost no smoke at all, I challenged the guy to have my van tested right there and then and proceeded to inform him that I've been using biodiesel on my van for almost 2 years now. The moron then told me that biodiesel is one of the main causes of pollution. We argued for another 30 seconds till finally I revved up the engine to 3,000 rpm, still no smoke was coming out, I asked him "Nasaan ang usok? Puwede malaman pangalan mo?" Sensing that I was not backing down from him, he said "Sige, umalis ka na, mahirap makipagtalo sa iyo." To which I replied " Siyempre, nasa tama ko. Bago ako umalis, pahingi pangalan mo." He just walked away without replying, tail between his legs.

Fellow Tsikoteers, be careful when you pass by this area, don't be gypped by these a**holes. If you know that you have not committed any violation, don't be intimidated by these SOBs.

If I were you, go back and try to reverse trap him and papull-over ka ulit, then video tape everything. Mas mabuti kung may kasama kang media/govt official/police.

makati police yun.... for every ticket they give, may percent sila... for every booklet na maubos nila, they get atleast 13k kaya gawa ng gawa ng sari-saring violations ang mga yan... t*ng* pa mga yan ang simpleng beating the red light ginagawang reckless driving na may fine na 2k at seminar eh dapat 02-03 violation lang with fine na 500... dami talaga mga nangongotong ngayon

To eveyone, please post where they usually make tambay, and how to avoid these animals.

Lately, I've seen a group flagging down vehicles:
    1. below the Magallanes Interchange, right after you come from the SLEX.
    2. Along Buendia, the side near the Buendia Flyover (as with what was mentioned).

They usually make tambay near choke points, like after the SLEX and NLEX entrances, para walang takas ang kokotongan nila. Also, they make tambay around the entrances to Makati. They will look for spots that can accomodate a LOT of flagged down vehicles.

Paborito nilang i-flag down ang L300, basta anything resembling L300s they WILL flag down.

DO NOT LET THEM into your driver's seat. THEY WILL FLOOR IT IN ONE SECOND. Obviously, even a new ride WILL emit smoke. Tapos baka ma redline pa sasakyan mo.

How to avoid them? One way to get over them is this, have a sign / printout with the words : BREAK IN. Tapos if they wanna try to rev your engine, make them sign a waiver na sila sasagot pag nasira ang engine mo, eh kaka 'overhaul' mo lang diba? Another is to stay to the extreme left of the lane. They will usually tambay in the right to the middle lane. But drive fast, since I've seen some of these 'animals' run all the way to the left lane, and BLOCK a vehicle. If they do that, I'd run them over, and say 'kidnapper'!

tama ka makati boys nga yun. One time nahuli din ako diyan. Kinonfiscate nila yung plaka ko and then they told me to claim it sa may makati fire station. basta parang dun yung office niya. So what i did was i brought my L200 to Mitsubishi Santolan, Tapos pinacheck ko dun.

Kasi kahit ipakita mo yung certificate from mga emission centers ang reasoning nila for not accepting it is "may daya" daw iyon eh

Mukhang these Anti-smoke belchers enforcers were all out last Saturday, July 30. I'd seen one along Commonwealth and another in Quirino Highway in infront of Robinson.

I did this many times na. They will flag me down and by looking at their faces, I know that they are concucting something against me.

I am prepared to argue with them for hours, kasi this got me thinking...

If I argue with them to the ends of time, eh my time may be wasted, but its put to good use. For one, the more time they spend arguing with me, THE LESSER TAKE HOME MONEY they can get. Also, masasayang ko naman oras nila... less time for them to make kotong hehehe...
