Underpowered, underspeced, but hey it's the new-body.... And only for 1.85M PHP.

i assume its 1.6 liter - one word - underpowered. Even if its 1.8 or 2.0 - the 3 is too heavy to be pushed with a 4 cylinder. Unless you want to be smoked by 1.3 liter cars.

The 316i will be producing around 122hp - good enough if you are just puttering in the city.

Well, that will depend on the person. But for a 3500 lbs car with 122 hp = about 28.69 lb/hp compared to about 20 lb/hp for a typical 1.3/1.6 jap car. I've driven my friend's E36 318is and its just too underpowered (compared to a 1.6 corolla).

I guess it's a good deal since the base model 320i is priced at 2.3+M. At least you get the new body.

im not really a fan of "all-show-no-go" car. i wouldn't wanna be smoked by a 1.3 liter economy car just to "look good" - but its your money - so its up to you my friend :-)

just keep it stock and clean so you wont be branded as 'too showoff', also go for 16" rims coz 17" and higher rims will strain your already underpowered engine

According to Prestige, only 20 units of 316i will be made
available. It will be very bare but will include the run-flat Continental tires, since wala talagang provisions for a spare tire. Not sure if it is on steel rims.

For those who still dream on having a brand-new BMW, ayus pa rin yung 316 hehe. hmm kelan kya?

But, I agree that it's underpowered.
