what's ur opinion on mini coopers?

car friends, ever since i saw the italian job..i took a liking sa mga mini coopers. i would wana own one sana, just wanted to know kung:
1. ok lang kaya sa pinas driving mga minis,
2. kailangan pa ba import mga parts nila?
3. tsaka if they are really pocket rockets (opinion ng iba faster pa daw sa most sports cars, is it true?) thanks

are you talking of the classic minis or the new minis by bmw? mahal yung gawa ng bmw, up to 1.8M(?). may thread yata dito ang mini pilipinas. dami daw parts for the minis & yes, they are pocket rockets. i heard they were call 'leeches' because of how they hug the corners at high speed.

ive seen the new mini by BMW looks nice..(but the driver doesnt look any good!) hahaha! ganda, no tints pa yun..sa new mini, parts may be harder to come by. unless they are the same sa luma.

Parehong maganda yung classic tsaka BMW version. Pero if I had the money, I'd probably go for the classic Mini.

I take note that the BMW MINI is certainly more stylish and more sophisticated (my office workstation is practically a shrine dedicated to it). My only problem is I find it rather imposing in terms of size, which somewhat defeats the purpose of having a Mini, IMO.

See what happens when you take a Honda VTEC engine and put it in a classic Mini.

Aww man thanks for creating this thread. I'd really like to own one, I love these types. I've seen some BMW Minis and they rock. The Italian Job shows the Mini's extreme potential. :D

Any BMW Mini owners here? Kamusta parts and after-sales service nila? How much ba brand new ngayon? Sino ba dealers ng Minis here dito?

been using the classic mini for 3 years now wala naman problema
actually, it's my wife's everyday car ang nakakagulat mas naging
kaskasera pa wife ko ngayon kesa sa akin. Once kase you're in a mini
you really can't help na apakan ng apakan ang accelerator, iba talaga
power nya. Kung hindi kase matulin takbo mo yong mini mismo ang nagre-
reklamo ayaw nya ng mabagal na takbo gusto nya parati humahataw ka.
Ang maganda pa kahit traffik pwede isingit kahit masikip pati parking kahit
saan pwede.wala rin problema sa parts kase marami na rin naman dito
kadalasan pa nga give-away lang basta present ka lang parati sa
EB kase kung absent ka malalamangan ka naman. I'm happy with the
mini lalo na wife ko mas ulol pa nga kese sa akin e ayaw na nga humiwalay
sa mini e gusto ko ng magselos pero mas okay na rin yon kesa iba pa
pagkaabalahan

i love the new mini cooper, even though mini purists may look down somewhat snobbishly on the new versions. the main advantage is all the 2000's technology for safety, comfort and performance that the new minis have 40 years after the original one. of course, as someone already said, you'll certainly pay luxury car prices to get one.

the mini is not faster than most sports cars though...with the s/c (cooper s) it is pretty fast, but it will get absolutely destroyed by similarly priced cars like the evo
