One of the things mentioned when I went to a driving school was that I should use comfortable driving shoes na manipis ang swelas.

It really depends on your preferred comfort level. I am happy to use my rubber shoes to drive my car. My brother used to have a pair of Tretorn tennis shoes has his driving shoes in his SUV.

Preferrably something with very thin soles to have a better feel of the gas and brake pedals.

for cases na kelangan ko mag-"takong", i bring with me my sandals and sinusuot ko lang after magpark

i have rockport, geox, florsheim, merrel and sketchers that are good for driving too.

Sa akin, kahit ano pwede. Na-alala ko nga dati nung ROTC ko ng college, naka combat boots pa akong nag-didrive ng land cruiser sa probinsya, ganun pa rin ang feeling. Ayoko lang magtsinelas or nakayapak.

That's why you should take them off when you drive. Stuff them under your seat so they don't slide around under your feet.

I tend to drive with anything that's comfortable, but when I'm in the mood to find a performance driving shoe, I get something like this:

    (Adidas Jawpaw)

Aquasocks fit snugly but comfortably, breathe nicely, and have very light soles, so it's easy to feel the pedals underneath. It pays to shop around for aquasocks that flex up easily but are stiff when flexing down. This gives you more leverage and toe control.

It's a good alternative to expensive driving shoes.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

use whatever you're comfortable with, as long as di sasabit sa mga pedals...

i alternately use boat shoes ("top sider") and fake crocs

The problem I have with casual shoes and formal leathers is the heels. When doing spirited driving, you want a rolled heel, so you can smoothly get on and off the pedal.

piloti, puma, adidas make good driving shoes. they all have rounded heels para comfortable maglipat yun right foot between the brake and gas pedal. yun piloti medyo malapad pang heel toe driving na di naman ako marunong. pwede din driving mocs ala TODS madami sa traffic shoe store lahat ng kulay nandun na pati superga ok din mocs nila. yan yun susuot mo na walng medyas parang miami vice. kung sanay ka sa nakapaa mag vibram five fingers ka. yun lang minsan yun velcro nya kumakapit sa carpet na nakacover sa transmission tunnel pag nakaaapak ka sa accelerator. dami na barefoot shoes ngayon vibram, adidas, inov. pero kung ayaw mo mukha gorilla yun paa mo meron din merrell, new balance, saucony na barefoot shoes na di hiwahiwalay yun toes mo.

I use basketball shoes for short driving. I know it's meant for basketball not for driving but i'm just quite lazy to change shoes from time to time. But for long trips, I use sandals with socks.
