China to outclass Germany in automobile producer in 2005:

[World News]: Beijing, Feb 6 : China's automobile production is set to grow by 20 per cent this year to a record six million plus vehicles, replacing Germany as the world's No. 3 producer, an industry association said.

Despite slack auto market in the latter half of 2004, China is expected to churn out more than six million cars in 2005, up 20 per cent compared to last year, replacing Germany the 3rd largest manufacturer of motor vehicles, vice-president of the China Federation of Machinery Industry (CFMI), Zhang Xiaoyu said here.

Germany produced 5.5 million vehicles in 2004, the No. 3 producer behind the United States and Japan.

China's auto market slowed down considerably last year due to speculation that auto prices will be further reduced, Zhang said.

"The market potentials have been delayed, which does not mean the lack of market demand," Xinhua news agency quoted Zhang as saying here yesterday.

In 2004, domestic manufacturers turned out 5.0705 million motor vehicles, and sold 5.711 million entire car units, representing increases of 14.11 per cent and 15.50 per cent respectively compared with 2003.

As prices are down to the lowest possible level this year, auto sales will finally pick up its momentum, Zhang said, predicting that the increase could be up to 20 per cent.

China is the world's fastest-growing auto market due to rising incomes of Chinese people. Foreign auto makers have poured billions of dollars in the booming Communist nation to start manufacturing facilities to cater to the growing demand. PTI

Parang napakabilis nga naman ng pag-akyat ng CHINA. Kung magagawa lang ng Pilipinas na gawing matino ang gobyerno at i-maintain ang Peace & Order Situation, kayang-kaya ng Pilipinas gawin din itong pag-akyat because just like China, one of the biggest resources ng Pilipinas is manpower/labor coz the Philippine population now is close to 80 Million. Ang working population siguro is about half of that.

So, kung kakayananin lang ng Pinas na maging politically stable para makuha ang confidence ng investors to put their money in the Philippines , magagawa din ng Pinas ang nagawa ng China. May edge nga ang Pinoy coz we know how to speak English(although, hindi perfect but at least marunong na rin).

baka naman sooner than later, our surplus cars will not come from japan anymore, sa china na galing. At least in china, their cars are original left hand drive. Heck, all well known brands are there already.

Sana lang medyo may konting originality sila instead of making lousy counterfeit CR-V's.

Maganda ang mga puntos mo cyberdoc95.

Let me add that our country is rich in natural resources. This means that we have the raw materials, the labor and technical know-how to be an industrialized nation.

But government ineptitude and graft/corruption will bring us nowhere. Graft/corruption is insidious: it retards economic progress and at the same time is destroying the moral fiber of our society.

I was once a patient in a Japanese hospital and had a discussion with an elderly nurse. She trained in Europe (several decades ago) and met some Filipina nurses. She admired and respected these Filipina nurses. But now, the Filipinas in the news are entertainers (especially in Japan) and domestic helpers. She asked me why our country has lagged in economic development and is like a poor country when there seems to be no reason for this condition. She wished that our government and our countrymen as a whole would do something about the sad economic state.
