Manipis talaga ang kaha ng HiAce. Isara mo lang yung driver side door, tunog lata na. Parang washing machine na kinatok.

Di bale na Lang na manipis ang kaha at least nakakaabsorb (crumple zone) ng impact during accident kaysa makapal/mabigat na sasakyan then ang katawan mo ang magaabsorb ng impact.

True, but in this case malambot na nga caha ng Hi-Ace di pa maganda ang absorption nya. This vehicle will never pass the US and European safety tests especially sa US na sobrang higpit. Walang nguso??? Yari ka on a severe frontal impact!!!

May crash test yung HiAce. Pero critical part yung legs ng driver.

At nasaan ang crumple zone ng van na walang nguso?

Just to answer the question, meron din naman required na crumple zone ang van. That's why the Kia Besta uses front bumpers that are strong enough to meet U.S. regulations. Same with the Pregio (hence the revised front end near the end of its model run). Don't know about the Hi-Ace but since they are being sold in similar markets, we could venture to say that it is also made to pass certain market standards.

The MB100 is also designed to pass commercial vehicle crash standards. Which isn't so hard because the original MB100 (when it looked like a bread box and was still made by Mercedes) easily passed the test also.

Just so happens, passenger vehicle standards are more stringent.

Let's not be too hard on the Hiace. Incidental lang ang involvent nun dito.

But the tests in the developed markets (FIRST WORLD) get stricter and stricter as time passes... Would they pass now with the stricter standards?

But the point is, safer parin yung vans with front. Hehe. I have nothing against Hiace. We had a GL Grandia for almost 3 years bago ibenta. Palagi rin nadadale. Buti nalang walang severe impact sa front, puro sa side at rear ang damage.

actually among the noseless(cabover) vans the hiace performs the best in crash test, it's just the different impact conditions dictate the results
