new Norkis cars

kakabasa ko lang sa Inquirer. Norkis Philippines is coming out with two new models -- Privacy and Commuter -- today. Same 660cc, 3-cyl engine as the Legacy, around 187k starting price.

the engines btw are supposedly low mileage(30k-50k) daihatsu and suzuki engines.

i hope the interior is a bit more spruced up; otherwise...parang walang pinagkaiba sa legacy B)

walang starter yang mga yan... pag start ng engine nyan, may crank na sisikaran mo (just like a motorcycle) sa ilalim ng steering wheel. (j/k lang pow...)

correction: 175k for the commuter, 185k for the roadster(kinda misleading imho). same engine for both though.

hmmm...baka newly imported used engines :D after doing the 5R process(rebuild, repair...etc) tsaka sinasalpak sa kotse.


oh btw, the catch: sa cebu lang siya available initially

I think yung Commuter ay based sa Daihatsu Mira,the same body na gamit ng Legacy at yung Roadster ay based sa guess what Nissan March/Micra(yung Verita dito!) YIKES! PATAY ANG NORKIS SA NISSAN NYAN! 659cc ang engine ng Micra?Ang hina nyan!

"...PCICI imports used Suzuki or Daihatsu vehicles from Japan as completely knocked down(CKD) components.

Only those vehicles with mileage ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 km are selected for importation."

Hindi Nissan Micra... Daihatsu Mira and Suzuki yung mga engines, although the bodies are initially Mira only.

Micras only come as low as 1.1, I think.

parang pampasikip lang sa kalsada yan mga norkis, I already encountered cars like that nag-squeeze sa right side or any narrow opening ala motorcycle. minsan mahirap makita lalo na pag mataas ang ride.

eh? di ba ung norkis legacy is something like 190 - 220k? afaik 2nd hand vitaras are something like 300-400k di ba?

'95 Vitaras sell for Php 240K. That's for a Japanese engineered and built vehicle equipped with a dual range transfer case and a pretty good engine already.

Just Php 20k above the chopsuey Legacy.
