JASMA-certified mufflers vis a vis locally-made mufflers

how do locally made mufflers from freemuff and mufflerland compare with the JASMA-spec mufflers in terms of performance and noise level? just curious ...

one of the reasons kaya mas mahal ang JASMA-spec mufflers kasi may added value ung JASMA certification aside from the muffler itself. baka the locally-made muffs (ie from nodalo's, freemuff, mufflerland) are up to par naman ... good alternative kumbaga.

singit ko lng bro, best muffler pra sakin tanabe, sounded great sa ek ko before but now buongbuo growl nya sa E36, kasi 6 cylinder kaya mas maingay. da best talaga 4 me.

Siyempre mas ok ang JASMA-spec, pero kung budget mo pang local lang, sa Mufflerland ka magpagawa. Wala pa kong naririnig na masama unlike sa iba.

jasma muffs i think are the types na tahimik sa idling until it reaches a certain rpm range, beyond that range tunog hataw na.

pag sa istura kaya.. hinde pa ako naka subok sa muff land eh.. pero freemuff subok ko.. ok naman quality nila..

kasi di ba in terms of material ... jasma muffs naman stainless steel din gamit. nagkakatalo lang talaga in terms of the internal design (diameter etc)

pag diameter nagagaya naman.. kasi ako pag may surplus un na lang kunin ko.. ganun naman karamihan ng jasma spec na binebenta.. pero mas palagay loob mo pag bago eh diba..

the difference between local and jasma(and other branded muffs) is that the latter has undergone thorough R&D.

n im not sure pero i think jap mufflers use another grade of stainless steel, not sure though

plus, imo, i would opt for a second hand jasma muff than brand new na locally made one..

You have to be careful of certain brands of JASMA spec mufflers, as some japanese mufflers can be rust-prone.

Japanese mufflers are really quiet compared to local ones at low rpms. Well-made ones don't start "singing" until about 4000+++ rpms.

Local "straight-through" muffs can sound nice, though... just make sure to get those with sound-deadening glass-fiber packs inside.

which local manufacturers make these? mufflerland or freemuff?

I'm not sure, but I believe they may make them. Usually run around 5thou. You can actually "test" a muffler before buying. Just have them cut off your existing muffler and tack on the one you want tested. It'll only cost you the price of the welding, and you can always go somewhere else if you don't like anything they have.
