    ako gusto ko i try sa xavier... every wkened kasi meron sila... atleast matutunan man lang yung basic... sabi kasi ng iba... kahit hindi ka mag aral nun matututunan mo daw pag gusto mo talaga at saka syempre kung ginagawa mo ng madalas... mag apprentice ka sa mga mekaniko... like sa banawe or kung may kakilala ka... pero syempre maganda talaga yung sa school for formality din

    How about if you want to continue further to engine performance modifications, particularly headworks?

    Ang una mong gawin ay mag hunting ng mga automotive books sa recto.
    Kailangan mo ng marami na reference books. Then bili ka ng mga surplus
    na mga tools sa banawe.

    Magbasa ka ng maraming marami.

    Makipag kaibigan ka sa mga hindi madamot sa kaalaman.

    Mag apprentice ka ang the best. Kung hindi mo kaya bumili ng sarili
    mong tools.

    mga pare kung seryoso kayo, start with books
    hunting kayo ng mga reference material para hindi maistorbo
    ang mag tuturo sa inyo. kasi hindi kayo pagkakatiwalaan
    ng teacher nyo pag wala pa kayo alam from books.

    sa recto marami smuggled na old reference books 500pesos to
    2000pesos each

    you go to training centers to have terminal time on the equipment
    there. hindi yon doon pa lang kayo mag aaral.

    Hindi po mura mag aral ng pag auto mechanic.

    Pag hindi mo na basa ang na basa ng chief mechanic
    or instructor mo, magiging tiga kalas ka lang doon.

    Tumatangap ng repairs ang mga training centers and you will
    be left out.

    There is no such thing as basic automotive mechanic.

    You are either certified class C, B, A or III, II, I.

    Meralco Foundation (www.mfi.org.ph)
    -- i attended their basic auto maintenance course...personally it felt a little bitin. Dunno about their other courses, depende rin siguro sa instructor

    TESDA (www.tesda.gov.ph)
    -- ilang beses na nafeature ung female students niya doing diesel engine servicing...para chicks naman ung maging kaklase mo B) Seriously though parang maganda ung programs niya

    i also hear Denso Philippines offers training for EFI and such...dunno the details though.

    Also, if you can afford it, buy a "project car" pang practice...would also be good if you can get a resident mechanic to guide you; magaling sa improvisation ang mekaniko dito, kahit walang special tools nahahanapan ng paraan

    I started investing in tools, latest na binili ko is air compressor . Nagbabasa lang ako sa net and I do my car maintenance as much as possible. Nag inquire ako before sa MFI and it looks good naman.

    sising sisi nga ako nung di ko binili ung starlet ng kapitbahay ko some years ago; chassis was pretty much gone but still runs well. anyways, all for the better i guess at medyo nag-wane ung interest ko sa pagmemekaniko B)

    btw, it would be a bad idea to practice on your "daily"car .
