basically the ElectroCharger replaces the engine's alternator with a motor/generator. The system provides additional power when accelerating and recharging when braking. Seems a good concept.

Too bad the product isn't available.

The writing is pretty horrid, and seems to have been written by the kind of people who sell Khaos, but it's a good idea.

Kaya lang, how would it affect gas mileage in the long run? It'd definitely be good for acceleration if the motor is powerful enough, but if it is, then it'll cause a bit too much drag at idle, I think, unless the car is modified for it.

Mukhang madaling gawin... hmmmm.... :D ...try nga?

    wow that's weird!

it would work in theory, but the motor is connected to the engine with a freakin' BELT!!! but that's nice. the page describes a PMDC motor/generator. the nice thing about these motors is that their torque is inversely proportional to their rotational speed. So IN THEORY, if you apply power CONTINUOUSLY to the motor, it will give a heck of a kick at low RPMs (where the gas engine sucks) and as motor speed increases, the motor's internal resistance goes up, up, and finally it becomes a generator. This is with no switching or electronic parts.

i think in order to save gas at idle, the motor should be clutched like the A/C compressor. but then again the clutch might be too heavy... pwede rin, ipa-freewheel nalang yung motor when it's not needed.

Well, if it acts as the alternator too, that might not solve everything. It looks like it will still suck gas at idle (from the size and apparent weight of the device). Would give a really nice kick, but that's probably all you can get.

Unless it's combined with an engine shut-off system. That would be nice.

at any rate, its a good idea in theory. And would be cheap enough for someone with some cash to burn to try out... heheheh :D
