If you got into an accident and you lost electrical power (like you fell into a river or crashed into something), di ka na makakalabas ng kotse. hehe.
looks neat though (and it says that i can be operated manually).
In an accident scenario, not as easy as swinging a door open.

un nga ang downside ng sliding doors din--pag sa accident--mas mahirap siyang buksan...
bmw Z1 has a half-folding door..
Nice! It looks really NICE! Pero, safety first. I agree with the posts above that it's more difficult to open them during accidents.
My concern:
-door may not resist a side impact collision as well as a conventional door. In fact it might not resist at all.
-door might not open if the door frame rails are misaligned due to a car accident. In this scenario, even conventional doors might jam shut.
-long term use of this door design is in question because of long term durability questions on its mechanism. To open normally, the window and door must both roll down. If the rails or electric motor itself have problems, (like the window portion does not roll down), you will have problems getting in or out of the car.
hmmm maganda... I could see how it appeals to some people :-) pero yup i agree it is not very practical... and its not for all cars ... some few cars pwede siya but not in all cars.
If it were just a matter of aethetics ... it would be nice ... right up there with the lambo doors kung ako tatanungin![]()
Ang hirap dito e pag nasa traffic ka at biglang nagmalfunction yung pinto at bumukas...![]()
Ahhh...here it is! My apologies to ghosthunter, I should have done a search first.
Disappearing car doors...
Would you install this in your car?
i wouldn't install this in my car.
the only good application i can think of is when parking in very tight places and dikit na dikit ka sa katabing car. pero advantage yun sa katabi mo na car kasi you wouldn't bump the car when opening your door - eh paano naman kotse mo pag nagbukas na siya ng door?
very nice.maybe in a few years we'll be seeing one on a luxury vehicle.
Nice, but a bit too frivolous for my taste. Would I install it in my car? Not likely.
But it's hard to resist being able to say goodbye to dents on your car doors. :D
For me, nothing beats the sound of a car door closing with a solid thump, announcing your arrival.
cooooool....
Pano yun e di laging nakasara yung bintana? Pag gusto mo ng fresh air bubuksan mo ung buong pinto? :D
