:car: Gone are those days when these cars/suv are brand new here sa Pinas, as in mass produced in our country, brand new stock unit:

    2 DOORS / 3 DOORS

    1. Honda hatchback
    2. Lancer GSR
    3. Mazda Miata
    4. Toyota Rav4
    5. Daihatsu Feroza
    6. did i miss any?

Are the local manufactures having plans of producing new models for these types of cars. Why are not they producing any here, all we have is surplus units.

So mga pips kung may balita kau or opinion bout this thread paki post naman

    Salamat po!:car:

The Hyundai Tiburon is still available.
Peugeot still sells a 2 door.

But the market is really geared towards more practical cars. 2 doors are rarely runaway hits.

vote with your wallet! tangkilikin ang 2-door cars!

i think it's the global movement towards SUV's, MPV's, and other bigger, more practical vehicles. here in the US, over the last decade we have lost the:

    Toyota Supra
    Toyota MR2
    Mitsubishi 3000GT
Mazda RX7 (but hooray for the RX8!)
Nissan 300ZX (but hooray for the 350Z!)
    Chevy Camaro
...and others that my sleepy brain cannot remember right now

hopefully we are seeing a renaissance of sorts with the introduction of such cars as the 350Z, RX8, Cayman, and Elise.

hindi pa rin mawawala sa mentalidad ng mga Pinoy na more doors, more value at syempre more metal more value...

at syempre kailangan isipin na dapat kasya buong pamilya kasama si nanay, tatay, mga kapatid, mga pamangkin... Someone should use the marketing for an "extended family" sedans & UVs of some sort....

Blame it on the practicality side of the Philippine automotive market. 2/3 door models' fate were also sealed upon the strong introduction (and acceptance) of SUV's .

Although we now see a lota 3 door surplus' like the ever popular pajero 2.5/2.8, people also buy them out of practicality; at least price wise.

I wanted to get my wife a couple of years back an Opel Tigra...(sigh).

The Jimny is a bit ridiculously priced also at almost Php800k for a top line model. A Suzuki APV is only Php765k. So unless you have off-road aspirations or you really love Zuk 4x4's, the Jimny doesn't seem to make any sense. hehehe.

The SJ413 Samurai is no longer available.

The old Volkswagen Beetle was a two door sedan and were sold brand new then... However you could still buy a brand new New Beetle.

I heard Mitsu Phils is to introduce the all-new Eclipse, if it hasn't already.

Coupes and hatchbacks tend to cost more. Considering the average Pinoy would want to buy a family car rather than a personal transport without much room, it wouldn't be cost effective to import the coupes and hatchbacks into the country.

you have an abundance of choices in other bigger markets e.g. USA and maybe even thailand. but locally, there is just no market for coupes...

Taxes are not based on the number of doors but on the Blue book value of the car.

The price of the Si? Importer's prices... c'mon, these are the same guys who sell the 24k FJ Cruiser for 2.5m...

But yeah, taxes are based on the blue book value of the vehicle, and sadly, two doors always cost more than comparable sedans or five doors, simply because the lack of volume gives them a higher markup.

Still, we're not too bad off... you can still buy a Peugeot 206 or the Hyundai Coupe (Tiburon)... which are kinda silly at the price... for the same price as the 206, you can get a Swift or a Jazz with a better engine and similar or better handling... for the price of the base Tiburon, you can get a Focus or a Mazda3 2.0, both of which have better handling, or a Civic, which is faster. For the price of the V6 Tiburon, you can get the Mazda6 2.3, which looks just as dramatic, has more rear headroom, and drives sublimely.

But then, you don't buy 2/3 door vehicles for their value-for-money, now, do you? It's sad that the Coupe doesn't sell more... as, though it lacks some headroom in the back, the rear seats are actually quite good, and it's a worthy alternative to a compact/midsizer.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

BRAND-NEW 2door/3door Vehicles,where have they gone??
