There are much better cars out there at little bit higher than your budget.
You can start with Honda City on your budget while bit higher will be the Jazz.

Try to look for a 2000 - up model nissan sentra. The city can be a good choice as well.

Not so good with parts and fuel consumption.

A better choice would be Toyota Corolla or Nissan Sentra.

I agree, we have a Honda City 2001 M/T and I recommend it. The A/T should not be too far in performance.

Have to agree with everybody else on the fuel consumption.

It feels like it leaks fuel when you drive it. My GF had the same car a while back and they junked it fast.

a colleague of mine sa hospital bought a brand new ford lynx. wala pa 2 years binenta na. malakas gas gas and maraming problema daw yun unit nya. pero nakita ko pa yun unit around last year. laspag na itsura. bukas pa bintana habang umaandar baka sira aircon hehe. malamang naubos na pera nun nakabili kakapaayos ng sira. a 10-15 year old honda/toyota/mitsubishi would still be more reliable IMHO. pero kung ibenta sayo ng 50k yun lynx kunin mo na haha
