The Suburban (P3.395M) looks nice... but i'll probably go for the Expedition Eddie Bauer EL, its priced lower (P3.099M) and offers a longer list of standard features.

Thats the actual price. It was mentioned in the "Ford Expedition: Riding Business Class" article of Dong Magsajo in the "Wheels Monthly" section of The Philippine Star (Feb. 27).

Wow this is actually relatively cheap if compared to the Toyota Prado * P3m and it only got a 3.0 engine with only standard interior and other features.

Definitely a good price for the features you get, but the major downside is the resale value. It's just too cheap to resell an expedition/explorer/f150 maybe coz of the gas/diesel consumption.

It depends on how you look at it.
The Ford Expedition uses newer tech than the Suburban, from its 24-valve Variable Camshaft Timing Flex-fuel Triton V8 engine to its 4-wheel independent suspension to its Ford SYNC™ in-vehicle communications & entertainment system.

The demand went down, but never went away, thats why they continue to make full-size SUVs.
Ford has begun converting its plants to flexible plants that can switch to different Ford models depending on the demand.

The Expedition is huge, but its fuel consumptions is just the same or even better than many smaller V8 powered European or Japanese luxury SUVs.

Yup resale value is pretty bad but owning an Expedition is really something. Maybe if you're worried about the resale value, just get a slightly used one. At least you'll suffer less when the time comes to sell it.

    Luxurious in what way?

The Expedition has much more features and space wise, I think this EL can rival the Suburban. The standard Expe is priced similarly to the Tahoe but it's bigger.

If you look around, you'll still see a lot of people buying big SUVs. Just look at how many new Land Cruisers, Sequoias, Armadas and other big SUVs are around.

The new Land Cruiser may not be as big as the Expe but I think gas consumption is roughly the same.

A lot of pinoys, tsinoys own Eddie Bauers

if ever you'll buy one, just make sure to keep it for a loooong time hehe. besides, hindi na iniisip ng Expy owners ang re-sale value IMHO. eh presyo nga ng gas hindi iniinda

Kung magbebenta lang sila ng fullsize suv and van dapat sinama na nila yung F-series trucks atleast may pakinabang pa ang mga yun kaysa sa expy.
