Just wondering, will the local Ford release the 2008 US version of the Escape?

parating na ang 2009 Ford Escape this 3rd quarter sa U.S. pero tayo 2007 pa rin ang binibenta. I am buying my first car this year and no matter what they say about FC of Ford Escape (plus knowing that there are better cars in other brands) I still feel that this is the one. Referring to 2008 model, this has the better total design than the other brands (under 1.4M budget).

I totally agree with you. I am on my second Escape now and I am planning to sell it to get a new one again. I change every two years and the Escape is not that bad in FC. I average 7-8 city driving and that is not bad. Also, I have compared the ride of the Escape to the CRV and Xtrail but still Escape is best in terms of ride.

First I had 2.0, then a 2.3 and now I want the new Escape for 999k

The Escape is not all bad.. Except if your a Honda fan..

I'm now averaging 7-8 km/L city driving.. using Caltex Silver Unleaded 93 RON.

Before making "hataw" at NLEX (ran 160 kph at 6,000 RPM) I was only managing 5-6 km/L..

Now my engine runs smoother and my transmission shifts better too.

Having the 2.3 engine and electronic throttle is sure a better combo for frugal fuel consumption.

The new CR-V 2.0 actually has the best gasoline engine now in terms of frugality... but the CR-V's rear seats aren't really as good as the Escape's. Though it's dated... no gasoline CUV out there can match the Escape's value for money, at the moment... and yes, it has one of the best ride-handling combos in the class.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I heard from someone that his friend from Ford mentioned that it'll be released this October daw.. How much lead time ba do they usually give out before they launch a product?

About to purchase an Escape but hearing that the 2009 model might be released soon.. Im having second thoughts..

Hope somebody can give more insight to this puzzle..

Ford should include a diesel version of the Escape (If only the Focus TDCi engine can fit) so that they can grab a share of those Hyundai/Kia Sportage brothers sales.

BTW any news if they are going to introduce the Escape Hybrid? I heard its the first Hybrid SUV and it is very popular in America.

if the new escape that's going to be released here will be the 2008 US Model, di ako magsisisi at bumili kami ng 2008 phil model. kasi same engine ng 2008 US model sa old escape, plus the new body is heavier daw kaya mas bumagal pa ng konti (yun nga lang, syempre mas maraming bagong standard features and all). pero kung ang ilabas agad nila is yung 2009 US model.. waaah gusto ko yun! 2.5L, 170hp.

pero... medyo off-topic... parang mas gusto ko interior ng bagong tribute kaysa sa escape (yung color kasi..)

Was in ford global the other day asking for a quote on the escape.. the agent slipped & said that the 2008 model will be released in Aug.. Kept asking when.. Biglang not sure daw.. Tpos biglang kabig na it'll be the same lng din nman daw.. More on accesories daw ung lalabas sa Aug..

Asked sa agent nmin sa Alabang, took him a while to respond.. He then said na wla pa daw timelines.. Pero from the way he responded parang there's something happening na nga soon..

Will the 2008 USDM Ford Escape finally be released here?

    Can somebody confirm?
