It is doing quite well. Way better than the Silverado in terms of sales.

ganda ng F150. sana may diesel so u dont need to own a gasoline station to drive one.
Ayaw ko ang body style niya . mas gusto ko yung mga 99 - 01 models ba yun ?? Yungh medyo round , either the harley davidson or the eddie bauer models . loved thos 4 door trucks !! not sure about the performance and reliablity . Gusto ko lang ang design ng body nito .
used to drive a 99 Ford F-150 4x2 XLT
4.2LT 405HP
a bit oversteering when overtaking, adequate power, baguio a cinch, "cramp little rear seats",
can do 7.5 km/liter with a light foot on a pedal.
f-150 is the top seller (both in car and truck category) in the world for more than 26 years. ford is selling 850,000++ units of f-150 yearly in global scale. 2003 is a record sales year for f-150, it may reach 900,000++. the second best selling vehicle (both in car and truck category) that comes close to f-150 is the silverado which averages 500,000+ units per year.
explorer, you're quoting the sales figures for america ONLY, right?if memory serves me right, ford sold 850,000++ f-150's in america alone last year.
The F150 does not really sell well outside the U.S. But the U.S. is a pretty large market in itself.

i hope they bring the 5.4 litre V8 variant here instead of the 4.7litre v8. it looks very promising... although i think the explorer (not the freakin pickup) would do better here because it can compete with the mid-sized vehicles here

Is there any hope for an F-350 with turbo-diesel, stick shift in 'Pinas?
the 2k4 F-150 has some sorta cabin noise reducer... that's one of their main selling points when you see their commercials in the US
yes. but sales of f-150 outside the US is less than 5% 0f the total f-150 sales. sales could have been much better if ford is also producing RHD and diesel-powered f-150's. i don't know why ford is hesistant to make RHD and diesel powered versions of their best selling product.Originally posted by sikuya

FYI, Ford did release some F-150 units in Aussie land with RHD configs. They say it will take 3 days to convert each unit.
yes, but it's no different from converted RHD cars here in the philippines.Originally posted by Ungas

it's being done by the manufacturer... surely it will be better than the hack-jobs some importers get away with. plus they need to provide a warranty.
i'm with the 5.4li engine. road tests have shown a big engine isn't necessarily more of a gas guzzler if the driver can keep a light foot.
f-150 was designed for LHD countries only. the design engineers didn't consider the RHD option. ford australia is not manufacturing the f-150, it only converts them to RHD. their workmanship maybe better than those in backyard shops but what would you expect from a truck that is designed for LHD countries being converted to RHD?Originally posted by splerdu
