Pls post where I can find the best steaks in town (kahit as far as Tagaytay / Batangas okay lang po).

    I've tried at:

Old Manila (at Manila Peninsula Hotel Makati):

One of the best tasting (beef) steaks I've had so far. Here, Salmon steaks melt in the mouth.

People are very nice and would serve you like royalties. Had a very memorable date in this place.

Price is a bit expensive. About 8k on the average dinner per couple. Siempre the tip would be somewhere around 1k.

Outback Libis: di ko nagustuhan yung Prime Rib nila (yung tig 2k isa), sumakit tyan ko after 30mins. Literally, it's 2.5k down the drain after 30mins. LOL!

Tender Bob's GH : Ok din steak nila. Very nice people. Price is affordable. (about 600 per meal)

Heaven & Eggs Eastwood : Good steak, big servings. Almost same price as Tender Bobs. Nice people.

Best I've tried so far (Prime rib) is at Flamingo Restaurant in Khobar, KSA.

Pakipost na rin po kung meron kayong suggestion na way of cooking steaks at home (incl the mushroom gravy).

    Thanks a lot :-)

    best according to budget:

99 pesos = in and out steak sa gilmore

    200++ pesos = 1. house of minis
    2. steak md sa tomas morato
    3. everything at steak sa p. guevarra san juan(badtrip lang parking kasi nasa loob sya ng petron, and extra gravy may bayad)

kasama sa buffet sa 7 corners in galleria suites, eat all you can for 950++ buffet.

I've also tried steaks sa Outback Libis, hindi nga sya gaano kasarap, pero then my friend asked me to go with her in Outback Glorietta, and to my surprise masarap yung sa Glorietta. So sa Glorietta na lang ako, pero hindi siguro ngayon, may bombings pa eh

Best way to cook steak is cold or at slightly frozen stage to retain the juice inside. Very big factor is the part where it was cut (tenderloin, sirloin, ribeye, etc) Origin is next. Australian beef is my pref as well as US black angus.

Seasoned with salt and pepper seconds before you start putting in a very hot pan with olive oil or grill.

    Classic Gravy with mushroom.

Sauté one large onion (white) to 1 tbp of butter with olive oil to increase the boiling pt. and to prevent burning, add beef stock or beef cubes as alternative. Put button mushroom (sliced) salt and pepper to taste and a tsp of corn starch mixed with ¼ cup of water to thickens.

gulliver's is located at makati avenue, yung aberdeen court yung hotel na yun, meron din gulliver's sa quezon ave also inside the aberdeen couert hotel.

the best saude for steaks are the drippings it produces during cooking, you really dont need a gravy, or an A1 steak sauce, dripping itself is suffice, and of course a glass of red wine.

when we were in california, my brother ask for a gravy, the wiater said they dont serve gravy but beef drippings instead=)

kwento ko lang two weeks ago I ate sa house of minis libis, I ordered porter house cooked medium well,in fairness to them I think I just got a bad batch, talagang nag LBM ako for 4 days...so just be careful when eating there....

I remember that day na I just had a breakfast sa house then wala na akong lunch I had a late lunch ther at around 2-3 pm then wala na rin akong dinner..

so for sure yun steak yun nag cause ng LBM ko...

Sa Outback din naman nag-LBM ako after just 30mins (good thing nasa bahay na). We ordered Prime minister steak (yun daw bestseller nila so tinry namin).

After paying for 2,500 per order, you wouldn't expect it'll go down the drain that fast, literally. hehehehe.
