what happned was the mother (reporter) drank coffee, which was served from a mug, and while he sipped all the coffee down. he saw something dark/dity on the inside bottom of the coffee mug. wherein he also alerted the store manager about it. not sure what happened after. but, the reporter asked for the mug to take home. was given. he had it checked at bfad i think. turns out it was rat/mouse droppings.

after a few days the reporter got sick. it was amoebaisis. tama ba spelling? well that disease comes from drinking or eating contaminated (dirty) food or drinks.

In my observations, hindi malinis mga restos ng Chowking. Even now na Jollibee na ang may ari ng Chowking. Pero kumakain pa rin ako sa Chowking minsan

Rat droppings from restaurant coffee downs reporter

An ABS-CBN correspondent was hospitalized after drinking a cup of coffee with rat droppings at a fastfood restaurant in Manila late last month, ABS-CBN News reported Monday.

Jenny Reyes experienced vomiting, fever and stomachache several days after she drank the coffee at the Chowking branch in Tutuban, Manila.

Reyes said she brought her family to the restaurant to eat on July 28. She only noticed the droppings after finishing her coffee.

She called the attention of the branch manager and showed the rat droppings inside the cup.

The manager, however, said those were just coffee beans. The manager also declined to issue her a complaint report to prove that she was not making it up.

Reyes disputed the manager's claim, saying that what she found inside the cup were rat droppings. She said the coffee beans could not have materialized inside the cup because she ordered instant coffee.

Reyes was able to convince restaurant management to give her the cup for examination at the Bureau of Food and Drugs.

The BFAD, meanwhile, confirmed after visual and organoleptic tests that the those found inside the cup were indeed rat droppings.

Reyes was first confined at the Perpetual Medical Center in Pamplona, Las Piñas before Chowking management transferred her to the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City.

Doctors from the two hospitals said Reyes suffered from amoebiasis. With a report from Niko Baua

As of yesterday's report in TV Patrol World, Chowking Tutuban has already shouldered Ms. Reyes' hospitalization expenses.

A follow-up report by ABS-CBN's Paul Henson reveals that Chowking Tutuban does not have a sanitation permit from Manila City Hall.

Pasalamat yung reporter at ABS-CBN ang employer nya. Kung reporter lang yung ng kung anong dyaryo or provincial daily, walang gagawin ang Chowking.

Pero regardless, wala pa ring kinalaman si Atienza or Lim or even si Arsenio Lacson sa nangyari.

kadiri talaga jan sa chowking. observe nyo lang guys, pag nililigpit na nila yung mga kinainan ng customers, they always put the dishes bin/tray on top of the chair near the table being cleaned. madalas ay madungis at basa pa ang bin. then pag tapos na, iaayos lang ang upuan without cleaning the chair.sa lahat ng chowking ganito practice nila. unsanitary talaga, kaya i avoid it na as much as possible. kun di man, sa newly opened branches lang ako kumakain para at least, well-organized pa at the moment. shishhhhh!

May ABS-CBN reporter na kumain ata dun sa Chowking Tutuban. Nung kumakain na sya, either may nakagat or nakita syang hinde maganda sa panlasa na it turned out to be rat feces. Nadinig ko kagabi ito sa news and if I'm not mistaken, na-ospital yung reporter.

Now, kung ano konekment ng mga Atienz sa story na yun or sa indicent sa Chowking, yun ang malabo. Maybe what the poster meant was this: kung sina Atienza pa ang naka-upo, maaring hinde mangyari yun.
