    From a press release of National Statistical Coordination Board

    A sole breadwinner in a five-member family residing at the National Capital Region (NCR) should earn a monthly income of at least P8,061 or P266/day to support his family.


    Sa mahal ng bilihin ngayon, paano kakasya yung P266 a day sa family of 5? He-he! Kalokohan ata ito. Pwede siguro, kung puro noodles ang kakainin nila. Paano yung ibang bayarin? Kuryente, tubig, etc.?

    baka gusto lang nila i justify kung bakit hindi dapat mag akyat ng sahod?

    e mga gatas. asukal. etc. e umaakyat ang presyo. anong year kaya yang statistics na yan?

    Year 2007. Hanggang bigas, toyo at noodles na lang ang 266 petot. Hindi yata nag-iisip mga taga NSCB.

    saan lugar sa Pinas meron ganun kababa na cost of living?

    baka cost of living ng homeless yan... homeless na may trabaho.

    If u live in a kareton, that solves the rent problem. La ka na din babayaran kuryente at tubig.

    then u park ur kareton next to where u work. La ka gastos sa pamasahe.

    so u now have more money for food and other stuff like celphone and load.

    Hwag kayo masyado magulat. Pang "Social Class E" tong sinabi nila. 5 members: Father, Mother and 3 Small children. Ung budget nila pang mahirap lang talaga so talagang mababa lang talaga. Para lang talaga makakain at makapagbayad ng daily expenses. Ung lunch natin na P100 per day, sa kanila sa buong pamilya na yun. Basta sila bibili sa palengke ung pinakamura at sila na rin magluluto, gamit kahoy lang. Kuryente very minimal, wala namang tv etc, para sa ilaw lang. Tubig, nag-iigib lang sa poso. Pero kung tipong desenteng pamumuhay talaga. P15,000 na income ng both parents kulang talaga.

    Kailan kaya nila ginawa ang study na ito? Baka 1986 pa, $1-P14 pa ang conversion ng dollar to peso noon at ang isang kilong bigas ay P2.50 lang yata. Ngayon anong mabibili ng P266? Kalokohan nga ito..
