Hurricane Frances is expected to make a direct hit on Broward and Miami/Dade county in Florida, USA tonight or tomorrow morning. we have been told to expect winds of at least 145 mph and heavy rains.
it's probably not a big deal for those of you in typhoon country but over here, the last two that hit (Andrew in 92 and Charley last month) caused some deaths and billions and billions in damages.
i've spent the whole day putting up metal hurricane shutters on all my windows and getting supplies, gas, etc. we're as ready as we'll ever be.
Good Luck sir! Wala ngang bagyo jan katulad dito sa Pinas..mas malaki naman ang problema niyo sa Hurricane. You'll be safe.. dami mo nang precautions eh..hehe Ung last na hurricane Charley..Ibang klase nga ang ginawang damage grabe.
update - hurricane has slowed down but will still hit us. hindi na tonight but tomorrow night or saturday morning. winds are still category 4 or 145+ mph.
wala po kaming basement (south florida is mostly swampland so building underground is usually impossible), but all openings except the front door are shuttered and reinforced. tomorrow i'm helping my neighbors get their houses secured.
of course, i'll still be logging on to tsikot as long as the power holds out :D
