My Toyota Fortuner model 2016 manual does not show when to clean the MAF sensor. So, when is it time to do the cleaning? What are its benefits?

I clean my GrabCars' MAF every 6mos... Including throttle BODY (TB) .

    Benefits :
    A) Better FC, lean air-fuel mix
    B) Smoother idling
    C) Smoother accelerator pedal (magaan, hindi maganit... TB related)

you DIY the cleaning of the throttle body or in a shop? how about the intake manifold, have you tried cleaning it too?

DIY the TB by using an old rug, tb cleaner and a toothbrush.
Change the air filter every year, I just vacuum mine and reuse it. Then change every other year.
Clean MAF sensor, maybe every year or two. It depends how often you drive the car or if you notice any change in fc and or idling.

    fc.
    fuel consumption.
usually measured in km/li, but further qualified as to type of traffic, i.e., fast highway or crawling edsa, as well as payload, i.e., solo, twosome, or fully loaded with kitchen sink.

actually mura na yan 1.2k for TB cleaning. sa altis club 4k singil nila, tapos reprogram daw ECU para mawala erratic idling daw after TB cleaning. gusto ko sabihin DUH, normal yun at mawawala naman after ecu "relearn"

It is detrimental to just clean engine air filters of turbocharged engines... It's the single most inexpensive way to take care of your turbocharger

Btw, any tips to clean the maf sensor?

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do
    1) Don't stare hard on the MAF... it might break
    2) Use a CRC MAF cleaner, don't be cheap... The MAF sensor is expensive
    3) 10-15 1sec bursts per CRC instruction

Pretty straight forward lang MAF cleaning ... Dami sa Youtube

madali lang yung maf sensor bro, unscrew lang then spray ng maf cleaner. contact cleaner nagamit ko ok din. i even used cotton buds with IPA dati, ok din naman, wala naman masyado dumi kaya kahit spray lang ng cleaner. careful lang dun sa sensor probe na hindi magalaw o madamage.

its the throttle body and the intake manifold that i am tempted to clean but hindi kaya ng "baklas-kalikot skills" ko kahit may tools ako[emoji2960][emoji16] may mga sensors na nakakabit mahirap na. egr kaya ko, ako naglilinis dati. wala na gunk since naka blanking kaya di ko na binubuksan[emoji846]
