    Hi Guys,

Need your advice sana. What I did is to start ulit yung engine sabay tapak na lang sa gas para di sya mamatay. I also experienced this kapag na-start ko sya tapos maglo-load ako ng aircon or headlights, the rpm will go down until mag-off sya. During cold start lang talaga.

    Thank you very much indeed,
    Pete

Every morning i have this exp. normally when i start the engine, nasa 600 to 700rpm. then when i switch on the ac w/o preheating the engine, it drops to 400 w/c cause engine vibrate. so what i did was, preheat the engine for about 3 to 5 mins then b4 switching the ac on, try to press the gas pedal 2x or 3x to 2000 for about 3 to 5 sec. then to 3000 rpm another 3 to 5 sec on the 2nd press. Then hold the gas pedal to 3000rpm on the 3rd press, switch on the aircon then release the gas pedal. Idle will now normalize. saken kc pinaset ko ng 1000rpm idle w/ac.

    Hope it works for you.

BTW Ive also exp. nung nagpalit ako ng actuator switch and carb overhaul, ganon paren naman, The ac specialist kuno try to rearrange the hoses connecting the actuator to the engine pero ganon paren.. hehehe... kaya pagdting ko s bahay binalik ko s dati and then napagisip isip ko kc na... considering the old skul type, its normal to exp this prob. kaya ayun binomba ko ng binomba yung gas pedal 1 morning and shooOt.. prob solve for the section.

    Silver_Corolla,

I had a 1990 Corolla 1.6GL before (the orig 16 valves). I'm not sure if you have the same car. Anyway, I had a similar problem. When I turn on the aircon, the RPM drops to a very low level and makes the engine vibrate wildly. The culprit was a defective actuator that is responsible for pulling up the idling. I think it's a pneumatic device that works with vacuum/pressure of the hoses connected to the carb. This part costs around 3K+ then in the 95's. I got it from a Banawe shop. forgot which one.

I'm sure the part you are looking for can be found elsewhere aside from the casa. I think one of the big importers of orig toyota parts is Celica Motors at Araneta Ave corner Palanza St Q.C. You might want look them up and give them a call.

    Hi yenners81,

Anyway, may mabibili kaya akong brand new carb sa CELICA? May contact numbers ka ba?

    Thanks,
    Pete

sorry for the ignorance ha.. pero i have a question...

sa prob ni silver corolla, does it mean na yung choke valve ng carb niya is always open? After reading wildthing's and yenner's posts, naisip ko, pwedeng tama yung mechanic ni silver pero pwede ding hindi. Hassle kasi kung bumili agad si silver ng bagong carb, eh iba pala ang sira, like what yenners experienced. Eh kung i-try muna kaya ni silver to manually close the choke during cold starting (like what wildthing asked)? Whatcha think? May kabuluhan ba pinagsasabi ko o walang kwenta? hahaha :D
