    hello again mga gurus. kasi po makukuha ko na yung oto ko ngayong week, nagpa top overhaul kasi ako, pano ko ba mache-check kung ok na yung pagkakagawa? anu-ano dapat kong i-check?

    ano ba yung engine valve? pag nagpa top overhaul ka ba pinapalitan din to? kasi sabi sakin, ni-resurface na daw yung makina kaya dapat original yung gagamiting gasket. e sa mga parts na binili ko wala namang sinabi saking bibilhing engine valve, ano po ba un? para kasing may nabasa ako dito noon about engine valve kso dko na mahanap.

    guys, please help me po kung anu-ano dapat kong i-check after i-top overhaul? at kung anu-ano pang dapat ko pang malaman about top overhaul. ayoko na kasi ng backjob. at ayoko narin po kasing maloko ulit 4 d third time. at kung sakali man, pwede ko pa kaya syang ipa check sa iba para ma-sure ko na ok na yung sasakyan? ano po un bubuksan ba ulit yung makina?
    pasensya na ang dami ko talagang tanong. wala kasi talaga akong alam.

    kapag bagong top overhaul nire reface nga ung valve. machine shop nga gumagawa nyan. bale dapat pinalitan ung head gasket at valve seal. kapag bagong top overhaul usually nde na mag o overheat. hindi agad magkaka pressure ung radiator cap. hindi na din mababasa ung spark plug. hindi na palyado ang takbo.

    pag nakuha mo na oto mo sa talyer eh iuwi mo sa inyo.wag mo papatayin makina. hayaan mo lang syang naandar para ma condition yung mga gasket na inilagay. check mo mga turnilyo baka meron hindi masyado nahapitan.pati mga engine support kung ok ang pagkakalagay at hapitan mo na din.dapat walang oil leak yan.

    valve - ayun yung may stem na may flat head sa dulo, kung walang sira/tama yung valve mo di papalitan yan,

    valve seals - yan yung parang cap dun sa may valve guides.

    valve guide - dyan naka nakasuot yung stem ng valve, kung may valve na nabaluktot, normally pinapalitan ang valve guide thru a machine shop.

    resurface - meaning nilinis na yung intake/exhausts ports ng cylinder head, it's just another term for cleaning, unless a port and polish is done on your cylinder head.

    the valve, valve seals, valve guide and the ports can only be checked if you disassemble the cylinder head, which your mechanic did.

    also, don't drive too fast muna, don't rev the engine to high rpm, don't shift too early din, parang new engine yan pag newly overhauled, it needs break-in siguro after 500 kms pwede na normal driving habits mo medyo alalay muna sa simula.

    na describe na yung valve kanina. eto yung nag bukas-sara sa loob ng engine para pumasok ang hangin and/or gasolina (intake) at lumabas ng exhaust gases or usok (exhaust). pwede itong palitan pag top overhaul.

    imo, refacing is done for bottom part of the cylinder head especially kung ndi na siya flat (warped).

    valve lapping is kung saan ang bagong valve ay nilalapat sa valve seats using a grinding compound.

    refacing is done in machine shops. valve lapping can be done by the mechanic himself.

    after your top overhaul, drive mo lang kotse mo then observe mo yung sound ng makina, yung hatak at fuel consumption. then oberve for leaks.

    bakit ako nag overheat agad may mali kaya sa ginawa nila???

    check mo sig link ko to my car domain--page 2, may sample ako gn top-overhaul for u..my liteace... pm mo nalang kung may di ka nagets...

    it may not be like your engine but still its a top overhaul...

    nga pala, as experience: medyo mataas pa fuel consumption ng sasakyan hanggang mag-set na yung valves sa head...

    bagong top-overhaul liteace ko 5-7 lang, now 7-10km/L na..

    Dont forget to re check the valve/rocker arm clearance on your next oil change para sure na seated na siya ng mabuti.

    If possible double check all head bolts kung may nag loosen or failed. Never do this if engine is hot!

    Did your mechanic use the right torque, sequence, type (angular or plain torque) or followed the 1st 2nd and final sequence (if appllicable). This I believe is the most critical factor in a top overhaul, doing it right the first time according to the OEM specs.

    yup yung ang pinaka importante sa top overhaul:

    torque and bolt torquing sequence..dapt pantay na pantay to prevent leakage..

    ang iba lang sa 2c-t is machine shop lang pwede mang-adjust ng valve clearance, unlike most engines na may adjustment screw ang mga tappets...

    Guys magkano po ba top overhaul? Honda City 98 ride ko. San magandang shop ung walang ngmamagaling tsaka mpagkakatiwalaan.

    My old 93 Corolla GLi has undergone a top overhaul. Will get it today. How can I assess the mechanic is doing a good job at it?

    Tol tanong ko lang kung kilala mo ba talaga ang mechanic at trusted mo .Mahirap din kasing maloko kagaya ni VIEPINK. Una ano ba ang mga pinabili sa iyong piyesa sa top overhaul . Kung nagpabili ng piyesa na hindi naman gagamitin sa top overhaul magduda ka na . SA gawa naman ng mekaniko mo nakasalalay ang magandang takbo ng makina mo . May mga mekaniko magawa lang kumita ayos na sa kanila . Iyong valve kadalasan problema ilalapat maigi iyan tawag asinta barula ,kung hindi masyadong nakalapat magkakaroon ng singaw at hindi maganda sunog ng spark plug at medyo palyado rin makina o magkakaroon ng loss compression dahil may singaw barbula. Ngayon makukuha mo na kotse mo . Tignan mong maigi ang andar niya dapat pino at tahimik . Tignan mo rin ang sunog ng apat na spark plug .Pag maitim at macarbon o basa hindi maganda ang pagkaka overhaul ng makina. Iyon muna obserbahan mo dahil palambutin pa iyan kailangan nalumapat ng husto ang barbula. Paandarin mo lang lagi at huwag mo munang i rev ng malakas.

    This is the first time i do business with this mechanic as I was referred only from someone I know. From the looks of it mukhang matino naman. But it would be nice to check if he is going a helluva job. Engine mechanicals is something familiar offhand for me but nothing in-depth.
