2C turbo engines are a straighforward swap into the Tamaraw FX.

Or Isuzu's C series engines; C190, C221, C223. But the last engine will require tranny change and engine/tranny supports remounting.
May kalakihan ang makina ng Isuzu Fuego, baka hindi magkasya sa engine bay. Plus the added weight, that will require you modify front suspension settings to compensate. Btw, were you referring to Fuego 4x2 Standard 4JA1 Naturally Aspirated or 4x2 LS 4JB1T Turbo?
Isuzu diesel engines:
4JA1 2.5L - Power=78*4000 (ps/rpm); Torque=17*2300 (kg-m/rpm);
4JB1T 2.8L - P=100*3800; T= 23*2300
C190 - P=62*4400; T=?
C223 2.2L - P=61*4000; T=13.3*2000
Toyota diesel engines:
2C 2.0L - P=73*4700; T=13.5*2800
2C-T 2.0L - P=87*4000; T=18.3*2200
For reference, your previous engine is:
5K 1.5L (gas) - P=83*5200; T=?
Thanks ungas for your info. so you are saying the 2c-turbo is the best option for me right now" Balita ko kasi "disposable" daw na makina yun . Mas maganda ata feedback sa 2L kaso mukhang malaki yung makina. What do you think? If i change the engine to 2c or 2L , for sure i will change the transmission gear ratio right?

if you choose 2c, no need to change tranny
baka sa 2L, you will do some modifications.
yung disposable po ay yung 2C dahil merong mga plastic parts sa loob. hindi po yung 2C-T (with turbo).

before may mega taxi ako fx standard with c190 makina swak na swak yun modify lang yun transmission, engine support and oil pan. yakang yaka ng makina yun body ng fx kayang pag hampasan sa star hway wag lang paakyat hirap sya dahil sa differential ng fx is high speed yata kaya nag palit me ng low speed.
thanks...sakin ata eh low speed ang transmission ko pero gusto ko high speed. tinging ko mukhang viable option ang 2ct kasi bolt on and toyota .... matipid kaya yun sa diesel?
Yung sinasabing disposable sa 2C engines yung picha, or spacers para sa valve clearance. But I sure did dispose our 2C engine with the vehicle. :D Mahina kasi ang power band.
I strongly suggest you don't modify any existing suspension part. Better if you just sell the vehicle and look for a coil sprung one.

yung "L" engine noon was too big and baka di kayanin nung front suspension (plus we wanted to avoid changing the radiator)
We decided to use a 2C engine na Japan surplus.
It looked very different from the 2C engine na ginamit sa local FX.
sikat yan L engine ng toyota.. yan naka kabit sa hiace.. yung 2C na japan surplus, yan naman nakakabit dun sa toyota previa.. na nasa gitna ang makina..
back 5 years ago i saw an ad on OLX selling a 2L swapped FX in Baguio city. The owner modified the engine bay firewall to make the 2L engine fit inside. L series engine swap is possible without modifying the front suspension. FX uses a front suspension similar to the 1980s 4x2 Hilux.
