Pero sa air filter, kahit ano na lang ang ginagamit ko, eh. Hehehe. Basta replace every 5K kms.

The air filter is just as important as a clean oil filter. Any dust that gets thru the air filter will contaminate the oil and cause added wear and tear on engine internals. I've seen damage on engines that were caused by poor fitting or neglected air filters inspite of the regular oil changes.

Try Vic replacement air filters too but you'll need the orig part no (OEM) to find the right Vic part no. Diesel air filters cost about P300-500.

I replace mine every 10tkm which is when a vacuum sensor on the air filter box signals a decrease in the air flow within. Doesn't matter if you do city or highway driving but may change more often on dusty gravel roads.

    jay crew,

Alam ko every 20T Kms. under ideal settings. Malayo tayo sa ideal kaya gusto ko every 5K kasabay ng change oil. Malayo din sa ideal ang wallet ko kaya sa no-brand na lang ako.

    jay crew,

Lakas sa krudo, hina engine and more usok kung madumi ang air filter. Sa talyer ni Glenn wala pang Php 150.00 ang generic aircleaner ng 4D56.

In our setting, i think changing the filter every 10K would be OK. Same goes for the fuel filters (the Frontier TD27 has two) I still use OEM filters though. Inbetween, i clean it (air filter) every 5K more or less (i can tell a difference in my engine sound when i have dirty or clean filter)

For the oil filters, i still use the OEM Nissan since they have an anti drain-back feature (or so i was told before). They also dont put a significant dent on my wallet as well.

K&N fan ako, so Air Filter ko washable/reusable.

After one year, Auto_Xer looked at the open-type cone filter ng Strada ko, and sabi niya, malinis pa daw. Puede pa one more year.

    And I average about 50km/day (Pasig-Alabang-Pasig).

So, clean and re-oil na lang ako once a year para sigurado. And, for easy remembering, Jan 1 (or thereabouts) is the cleaning and re-oiling time.
