Bad for the seals. Better keep the level between the min-max markings.

January 30th, 2015 07:31 PM #3i think the problem of over-filling with oil, is that the crankshaft's reciprocating arms might reach into the oil and act as an egg-beater. the oily foam that is generated might be sucked up by the oil pump. this oil-and-air mix may not provide adequate lubrication protection to the metal parts..
it is true that modern oils include an anti-foam additive... but why tempt fate?

Yep them stoopid oil changers. Next time tell them to put 3.5 liters (depending on your car)lang wag buhos lahat. Ikaw na mag top up. Just keep the extra oil.
Return to petron at bawasan via drain plug

February 1st, 2015 12:14 AM #8Eto ginagawa ko pag change oil. Sa Montero GLX 6.5L max oil capacity. I simply fill it with 6L of oil. On my Rio 2014, max nya is 3.7L. Service manual says fill 3.3L, however I do not trust the casa or anyone with correctly filling 3.3L. So I will simply buy 3L and call it a day.
User manuals specifically mentions, "DO NOT OVERFILL" the oil. Its better to be on the conservative side in this regard. Besides I'm very hands-on with my car's maintenance. I check everything can every 2-3weeks.

Nung 1K and 10K PMS ko sa casa, may natitira pang a few hundred milliliters of oil sa one gallon container nila. Ngayon wala na. Nung nag-check ako recently sa dipstick, lampas sa full line. Kaya ngayon, sa labas na ako nagpapa-change oil. Around 3.7liters of oil lang ang nagamit ko and the oil level is just below the full mark.

March 18th, 2015 11:49 PM #10Same here, though hindi naman ganon kataas yung isinobra. PMS ko last Monday sa casa, kanina ko lang ni check siguro an hour after pinatay ko yung engine. Me factor ba yung time at init ng makina pag check ng oil? Try ko ulit tomorrow morning.
Replaced with the Pilot Sport 5 na ata, but the available sizes aren't yet as broad as the PS4.
