saan kaya yun oil leak. tumutulo siya sa bandang harap ng drivers seat. napaayos ko na kasi yun oil leak sa gasket and yun sa power steering sa right side. ngayon sa may left naman may tumutulo. anong part kaya yun? nissan sentra series 3.

kung may trace galing engine bay baka kaya camshaft or crankshaft oil seal?

But just in case... Here are the possible fluids that might leak from the engine compartment.
1. Engine Oil - Normally for an old car, the usual one that leaks is the valve cover gasket. Marked by oily surroundings around the valve cover gasket. Next is the oil pan or sump - same as the valve cover gasket, the gasket on this can harden and crack up breaking the seal. Usually marked by wet surroundings. Next to go are the oil seals that surround the camshaft, balance shaft, and crankshaft. Again easily spotted. Engine Oil is thinner than transmission oil so it's pretty much easy to spot.
2. Transmission Oil - for front wheel drive cars there are 3 potential leak points. The left side where the driveshaft attaches, the right side where the driveshaft attaches, and the oil seal of the shaft which is connected to the clutch.
3. Constant Velocity joints or CV joints are packed with grease, but when these break, they can spread grease around the engine bay or behind the front hubs.
4. Brake fluid - it may look like an oil leak but it's actually brake fluid mixed with grime. This drips from the calipers to the wheels and sometimes may wet the shield behind the rotor/hub.
5. Damper fluid or shock absorber fluid. - Yes, this can also leak and wet the whole shock absorber and drip to the floor like thin oil.
6. Steering gear oil. - A broken boot can allow your stearing gear oil to leak out. Check both sides...
7. Power Steering fluid. - for Power steering equipped cars, another thing that can leak - not your standard gear oil...

May 30th, 2011 06:21 PM #20nagbabawas ba power steering fluid? kung hindi naman malakas tagas pwede unahin shocks kung sira na. mas madami sisirain na pangilalim kung hindi magawa kagad shocks.
