For the Zic X7 (gasoline), yung 5w30 viscosity ang fully synthetic. For the X9 (gasoline), fully synthetic yung 5w40 viscosity.
Not sure about the diesel oils but I guess the 5w30 viscosity is fully synthetic also.

March 1st, 2019 01:53 PM #5842If I recall correctly, Zic oils are not fully synthetic (composition wise) in the traditional sense of the word. SK Lubricants (maker of Zic) specializes in the production of high quality Group III base stocks, which when blended with advanced additives, provide performance similar to that of Group IV (real pure synthetics). Think of it as semi-synthetic oil with a premium additive package. The pricing reflects what it really is so I don't expect it to be like Shell Ultra or Mobil 1.
"Synthetic", "synthetic technology" and "synthetic blend" are now mere marketing terms. Lubricant companies would like you to believe that these terms reflect oil performance rather than actual oil composition. The industry started using "synthetic" loosely ever since Mobil lost its lawsuit vs. Castrol in 1999 for the latter's use of Syntec in its products.

March 1st, 2019 02:42 PM #5844^ Exactly sir. Even the cheapest mineral-based multigrade oils meet the latest ACEA and API standards. It's just a question of how much a car owner wants to spend for the "perceived" extra margin of safety and/or performance premium oils bring to the table.

Instead of reposting it a third time, my post here, pretty much mentioned the same thing.
At least based on the article, PAO, despite what a lot of people may think, is not a perfect oil. Group III has certain characteristics that outperforms PAO, not least of it is cost.

March 2nd, 2019 04:36 AM #5847From Germany yata yan? Mahal yan sigurado.
